On January 18, 2018, as part of our monthly Third Thursday Telecon series, Dr. Andrew Westphal mentions that the team is eagerly expecting the arrival of a new interstellar dust candidate from Johnson Space Center. This particular particle was first found by longtime duster McAngus! There are also new efforts to incorporate the use of machine learning for the Foils search. In addition, Dr. Westphal explains how Stardust might collaborate with NASA’s exciting plans for a “Deep Space Gateway.” Finally, see actual sample material collected from the Genesis mission and learn about some of the investigation’s latest analysis techniques.
