Picture perfect: aerogel scanning progress

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here's my schematic of our progress collecting focus movies from the aerogel collector

8 Feb 2007 - Most tiles are now scanned in focus at the first attempt, so I have retired the Red Quality category for now. We have been concentrating our efforts in improving the image quality in other ways.

One way to improve image quality is in the compression done here at Berkeley. I've intoduced a "Low Resolution" key which covers all the images scanned so far.
The new "High Resolutiuon" key identifies tiles we have reprocessed and will come online soon. More on this shortly...
