Thank you, fjgiie. Do believe my eyes are playing tricks on me - making something out of nothing - as My Events list gets longer and longer.

Unique track or another ding feature? Maybe it is worth to have a look at it:

It has got no clicks so far ( 11 1 ).

Has sort of a strange "curl" at the end, but I'll promote it for a second look. Thanks for pointing it out.

Apropos promotion...

Don't you think movie 5599106V1 should be on the Alpha List too? To me, at H375/V125 it shows a tiny midnight track too (w.d.y.t.?).

And, btw, what is happening with movie 6627522V1 that possibly cover a high-angle track too?

Peter - eagerly awaiting I015+I016 in the database (for my extra search :) )

5599106V1 is already on the Alpha List and being rated in the mid range, i.e., definitely worth a look.

6627522V1 doesn't seem to be there yet, but I'm investigating and will get back to you.

Thanks!

Dear Peter,

What feature in 6627522V1 do you think is a track? Nothing I see says track to me, but I will look again if you will point me in the right direction.

Best regards,
Mitchell

Hi Mitchell,

The focus of the movie goes not deep enough to have a distinctive part of the "track" in focus. So it is more like to speak from a duster's experience that there could be a track.

Have a look at this high contrast picture where the track around the debris/particles is more obvious:

Hi Peter,

I see what you mean in the high contrast picture at about 450,125. It does resemble a midnight track. But when focusing up and down it never seems to come to the surface. I suspect it is some sort of inclusion.

Mitchell

Hi Peter,

I've offered up 6627522V1 to the Red Team to see if anyone cares to promote it - let's see what happens.

WOW!
6263991V1 (from I1059, which I take to be the extracted top centre tile):

Image

At first sight I was sure this must be a CM, given the track's typical appearance and perfect 'midnight' alignment, and it doesn't look like the needle marks I've seen illustrated. I hope it hasn't been mis-labelled, since I seem to be the first to come across it.

Hi John,

Nice catch. When I first saw your track I thought that it looked a lot like Orion and that the movie was probably mislabeled. I actually compared it with a 'Orion' from one of the calibration movies and while they look a lot alike, I do see some differences between the two. Looks real to me!

Now lets see what the experts have to says about it. :)

When I saw this on the alpha list earlier today, I rated it a "7." I don't think I've rated any potential track higher than an 8, so yes, I'd say you've got one, John. One caveat, however. The feature did look familiar when I first saw it. Because the movies overlap, you might get multiple views of the same feature. You could be the first to see it in one view, as I've believed myself to be on a couple in the past, but not the first person to see the feature in any of the overlapping views. So, go ahead and have a name ready as Elaine suggests, but no guarantees. Best of luck.

Hi Mike,

I understand and accept your caveat, so perhaps a more muted 'wow' for now. What I'd like to know is how 6263991V1 managed to get into the Alpha List (presently rated 9.25) within only a few hours of my posting, assuming it wasn't already there and that my 1/1 rating under My Events is an error. How exactly does the Red Team/Alpha List system operate? I'd no idea it could work that quickly.

Thanks, John

Nice to see one that looks so real and is not a CM. Good work, John!
