Calibration Movie Issue

Post by HK47 »

Hi everyone,
I would like to report another Calibration Movie issue. Several times, I have gotten CM's that I know have a track in them. I know this because they are too big and too deep not to be one. However, when I click on the track, it increases my identified incorrectly meter. I do not have the movie numbers, but I am positive that they had a track in them. I do not know what can be done about it, but I thank you guys for helping me all the same.

Edit: Got the problem again, got the movie numbers this time though.

In calibrations movies you are looking for the kind of tracks that are in the tutorial and test, not like your example. Hope this helps. :)

Hmm... How was my example different than the ones in the tutorial and test? If you could tell me, I would like to be as good at this as I can be and learn from my mistakes. :)

Dang, I got another one. Movie Number 10466B

Please, tell me what is different about this one. :? I thought I was doing really well. Guess not.

Edit: I just read the technical issue thread(should have done that a while ago, but I did not see it) I think maybe this is just a technical issue that sometimes just crops up. Thanks for the help anyway guys!

I too am having this problem. I've experienced it twice. Once is movie 10867B. I would also like to see the difference between "good" and "bad" tracks, so that the quality of my search is improved.

Ditto, this one had a very obvious track: 10516A

But, increased my incorrect score.

Firefox? Confirmation box?

Post by sligocki »

I also got this problem of clicking a track and having it marked incorrect using Firefox 1.5.0.6

I noticed that in Firefox, there is no confirmation box raised when I click on a track and the result of that click seems to be somewhat arbitrary.

For those people who are getting this problem: Are you using Firefox? Are you getting confirmation dialog boxes when you click a track??

I've submitted this to the problems thread: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... .php?t=293

10494A has a very clear, very obvious track (20% across, 10% down) - but came back as getting it wrong when I identified the track.

If it's any consolation, I just had the same experience with the same calibration movie - there's definitely a track in it (hey, we can't both be wrong), identical to those in the training exercises, yet the system says there isn't one. I guess with a gazillion movies to input, there's bound to be an error or two slipping into the system...

The issue does not seem to be browser specific. I am using Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 (what a mouthful :) ).
