Then, the ID displayed on the movie page, when it worked, wouldn't produce the same movie when using the usual URL

So, the key point here, is its sort of pointless to post any movie numbers from pages that display the "Unusual Route" message. The system is lost by that time and the numbers don't correspond to images any more.

I believe what you are seeing is "artifact" (dust, yes, from space, not likely). Notice how, when you focus further "down", the particle becomes blurred. This suggests that the particle resides right near the surface of the aerogel. Considering that the space dust was travelling 1,000's of MPH (or KPH, for that matter), such a short track for such a relatively huge particle is highly improbable (remember, it is highly unlikely that we'd be able to see the particle itself even if we could focus at that level - they're really tiny).

One way you might want to double-check yourself is to notice that the "track" should never really be out of focus no matter how deep you go - even if it's a lateral track, it would easily span the few microns of depth that we're revealing here.

Yeah it does look very similar to the ones I found. The object doesn't come into focus until you are under the surface. I would vote that as a possible track.

This doesn't look like a track that we are all so familiar with from the test slides. However it is below the surface. Look in the upper left quadrant of slide 42208.

PS: a refrence grid would be nice

Calibration videos classify those as tracks so I'd mark them. Of the 256 calibration videos I've viewed only 3 of them so far have had the mini tracks like you found. If these are in fact the tracks we are looking for I bet more calibration videos will start showing up with this type of track.

This is the best one statistically, 8 agreements out of 15 views. It's faint, towards the middle, comes into focus around the lowest image.

I think your first and second are definitely real tracks. Your second one, sadly, is just a rather impressive chunk of aerogel sitting on the surface.

EDIT: On further viewing, your first one even has another track, near the top middle, just barely getting close to focusing at the bottom image. Your third one has three more along the right side: two near the bottom corner and one in the middle-ish. Nice finds.

Here are the ones I think I've found, but have no other agreements on them; they're quite small:

Movie 42362: Middle-left, and on further study, a faint one on the middle-right.
Movie 43213: This has a few: at the top and bottom of the large dark "mess", and two more to the left of that a ways.
Movie 41730: This one I'm surprised I found, and when i checked My Events later on, I thought it was a mistake, since it took me a while to see it again. The aerogel spot just at the bottom right edge begins to come into focus at the very top of the movie, and there is a tiny speck a little to the left and the very bottom that comes into focus near the end.
Movie 43642: A speck to the right of the middle, one or two frames from the bottom.
Movie 42763: This one is just beginning to be visible at the bottom of the movie, near the left edge around the middle.
