I'm using Firefox 1.07, and it has been working much smoother for me then IE.

Mozilla/Firefox has a privacy/security setting which determines how images are loaded if they originate from a different location. This is a strong anti HTML-spamming tool.

The tutorial is located at http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu and the images at http://s3.amazonaws.com

If you have a high privacy/security setting (like I have), you will not see the images. You will need to lower the setting level which can be set on a per-site basis.

I strongly suggest to host the web interface on the same location as the images.

I tried both IE and Firefox. IE works much more smoothly for me. There is noticeable jerkiness in Firefox. Maybe the above-mentioned security setting. Anyway I'm very impressed with the VM-can't wait to get going! Great to be sharing this with so many around the world.

I've been using IE 6.0 both at work (using a T1 line) and at home (using dial-up). On broadband the tutorial VM worked great for me, whereas at home with my dial-up line I had some frustrating delays, especially at first. After awhile, I was even able to get it to work ok at home. I'm really looking forward to using the real thing. :)

I am using IE Version 6.2.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 with high speed connection. I had no problems with the tutorial at all. Focus was clear and working well. :)

I am anxious to get going on the project. Has anyone gotten any news on a timeframe for the startup on viewing? Are we looking at days, weeks or months? :?: :)

Thanks, Howie for mentioning how well viewing is going on your Windows XP platform. Personally, IE has worked well for the tutorial, even on a rather archaic machine compared to today's standards. Happy Hunting Everybody!
