Doesn't bug me one bit being high res... eyes still good enough to spot individual pixels just fine.

I have a 20" vis monitor and thus normally use 1600x1200 but back it down to 1152x864 for Stardust. Much much easier to see the really small tracks.

My Lacie monitor also has a superbright mode that I use.

Possibly more people should try 1024x768. It makes the image bigger on the screen, making it easier to spot smaller particles. I may be wrong, but I believe that the movies are fixed at a certain resoultion, making it counter productive to have a larger resolution. When I view movies I always set my resolution to a smaller one, as to make the image bigger on the screen. It seems to really help, especially with smaller particles.

I am using an older Mac os 9.2 and use a screen resolution of 832x624 and
have a nice size image.

I have a dual 1280x1024 monitor, but under Linux I can change the displayed resolution at any time to a dual 800x600 (and use the mouse to navigate in the full desktop), to view the focus movie in almost full-screen, with the browser interface "out" of the screen.

Exactly right! This is one area where CRT users definitely have an advantage. LCD monitors can only work properly at their native resolution, whereas CRTs look sharper when you drop the resolution. In addition, the higher contrast ratios of CRTs make them ideal for this sort of imaging task.

I'm at 1280 * 960 and I bump IE 7 up to 125% scale and set it to full screen. My SLI system doesn't help any
