I'd have gone with bad focus on all three. The first and third have uneven surfaces, so even though you can see below surface on about half of the movie the other half never makes it below the surface. The middle one never makes it below the surface at all.

Possible

Not sure on this one, any opinion?

Should we give a movie the benefit of the doubt or be more sceptical?

I'd mark that one for sure.

I see four possible particles in that movie, but no tracks.

There are two particles visible at the very bottom of the focus. One is straight up from the "s" of "microns" and slightly under one-quarter of the way north of the bottom of the image. One is beginning to come into the focus in the upper left-hand corner, below the "s" of "mouse."

The third and fourth particles are below the surface but not so deep. Focus at about the "d" of "down" -- one of them is just south of center and the other is in the lower right-hand corner.

I think that's all of them.

If it were me, I'd select one and click on it. If enough people agree, it will cause the scientists to examine the movie. They are experienced enough to notice all of the particles I have pointed out.

Hope that helps. :)

Um... That looks like a calibration movie.

Which of course is why I have warned people a few times not to get to lax on what they think are callibration movies. Some of the features that crop up often in the callibration movies also exist in many real movies. Familiarity breeds contempt.

It's not a calibration movie. But I would have marked that one "bad focus" because the spots in the lower left corner don't come into focus until the very bottom of the range.
If you're going to be just like everyone else, what's the point in existing?

This looks like a hit

The right side of the field looks usable, but I didn't see anything there.

To sumarize then (and yes I did see all 3, not quite enough focus to resolve them), these are definately subsurface particles. They are probably "inclusions" from manufacturing, but since we don't know yet for sure, keep on flagging them so they can be looked at later by the project staff and they will make the official determination.

I hope they send us pictures too!

Yep, that's it. It seems that the tracks are smaller than most of the calibration movie examples. Although early on I did trip over 2 calibrations that were quite small and tricky.
