Hi Marcella,
I think you said it correctly. They don't look like tracks but I would click on that top one. It stays around a long time.

Roy - did you click on the one on the upper-right, or the bottom-left? I see two pop up on that slide.Roy Ezell wrote:Here is a nice clear gel shot,I wish they all were this clear. Anyway on the last few bars of the focus bar something pops up,not sure what?

What are your thoughts on these?

Ooh!
Just found this one, and I'm a little worried others aren't seeing it and it might get overlooked, because this looks like a real possibility to me. 3 people have viewed it, but no one else selected.
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =8252404V1
Just as it starts to go out of focus, there's a small speck that appears to move South-Southwest. It's near the middle about maybe 1/2 inch from the top. I wouldn't even have caught it if it weren't for just having gotten scored incorrectly for not clicking a similar one on a callibration movie.
What do you all think???

Hiya DiamondGirl,
I clicked on the top right one,I tend to click on the bigger one if there is more than one,The team checks the whole shot when they check the ones we mark.
#1 don't look at the spot on the large dark spot,I see something in the top right hand corner,Kind of looks like a dark spot but it goes deeper that the others as you go down the focus bar.
#2 looks good to me to mark.
#3 These tiny specks drive me crazy,I would have marked it I saw it.
good eye there DiamondGirl, I hope you find a good one to name,Good Luck!!

Two tracks?
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =8464648V1
See it very well on third last blue bar. Quite obvious. . .
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =3578781V1
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =6228989V1
Very long track the goes off the viewer; very faint. Or is it a scratch?
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =5774988V1
Another track? (Left middle to bottom)
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =1653437V1
Two very very faint dots, possibly dust? One near top right, other near middle a bit left and down
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =7707581V1
Bottom right.
I'm a bit worried that I'm the only one who has found these. Is my mind playing tricks on me or what?

Could this be a HAT? It's not so straight as on the 100micron-movies, but may be that's because of the magnification.

Edit: It's an hour later now and I doubt it very much...
Sometimes you see something different than than the most movies you have seen, and you think: Hé! Wow! But later on...

Re: Track?
Holy curveball, batman! Can tracks do that?
I would definitely have clicked on this one too.

Hi, Chessnut. Here's some feedback on your slides.
.
2657616V1 -- Two tracks?
This one looks to me like it doesn't actually come into focus until near the bottom of the blue bars (maybe 5 or 6 from bottom). I would probably have selected No Track on this one.
.
8464648V1 -- See it very well on third last blue bar. Quite obvious. . .
This one has more possibilities, although it's most likely an inclusion. The fact that it focuses in straight on, then comes into focus on the 3rd from bottom blue bar but on the last blue bar splashes back out of focus are the indicators that make me say that. However, I would probably have clicked on this one also, just to play it safe.
.
3578781V1
This one looks like more of a possibility to me. It doesn't seem to have a track, but it does look like it has some movement.
.
6228989V1 -- Very long track the goes off the viewer; very faint. Or is it a scratch?
I think I see what you mean in the middle there. What I think here is, the full line is in focus at the same time the rest of the spots are in focus, and then it goes out of focus all at the same time, rather than showing movement or having part of it getting clearer as you move down which would indicate something going deeper in. So I would think No Track on this one.
.
5774988V1 -- Another track? (Left middle to bottom)
This one is tricky at best. My response would be Bad Focus or No Track, because that line gets out of focus the deeper you go rather than the reverse, but personally I'd rather click and be wrong, than not click and miss it.
.
1653437V1 -- Two very very faint dots, possibly dust? One near top right, other near middle a bit left and down.
I would definitely have clicked on the middle one here. The fact they come into focus at the same time is suspicious, but I like the shape of that middle one.
.
7707581V1 -- Bottom right.
This area at bottom right looks like an area in a different focus to me. That fact that everything within that curvy area comes in at almost the same time makes me think a shallow dip, or concave in gel, but I would have selected No Track.
Hope that helps some - and sorry all for the long post. I really value getting feedback, so wanted to return that when/where I could. Chessnut, don't take my word as fact on any of these. Just opinions that you can use or not use as they help.
