The Night Before Phase 2

Post by DiamondGirl »

Twas the night before Phase 2
And all through their houses
Not a scanner was scanning
Nor using their mouses

The old scores were saved
In the old lists with care
In hopes that a real track
Might soon be found there

The scientists were snuggled
All up in their beds
While visions of asteroids
Danced in their heads

Moderators of topics
Regarding the gel
Were all settled in
All the questions to quell

When up on the net
There arose such a clatter
They raced to log in
And see what was the matter

Away to the computers
They flew in a flash
Logged onto the forums
To check for a crash

The glow of the screen
On each newly scanned slide
Gave the lustre of starshine
To eyes opened wide

When what to their wondering
Eyes should arrive
But a miniature DUSTER
and the whole duster hive

With a flash and a login
And a selection so quick
They knew in a moment
It must be Saint CLICK

More rapid than meteors
The other dusters came
And St. Click sent them e-mails
He knew them by name!

Now Fjgiie, now Howie
Now Nikita and Hiker
On Titanium! On The Moon!
On Marcia and Miker!

To the top of the screens!
Let your mouse fingers fall!
Now Dust away, Dust away,
Dust away, all!

So quick to the first slide
The dusters did go
To scan and to rescan
Their ranks not to blow

Their slides, how they twinkled
Their e-mails so merry
Their dedication to scanning
Well... a little bit scary

The moderators watched
As Saint Click cleared the shelves
And they laughed as they watched it
In spite of themselves

In the blink of an eye
And the flick of a wrist
He scanned ten thousand slides
And not a single one missed

And laying a finger
On the side of his screen
He logged himself off
And was gone like a dream

But they heard him exclaim
As his system shut down
Happy Scanning to ALL!
Let the Space Dust be found!

I'm particularly glad you like it, Hiker, since you're one of the dusters Saint Click knows by name!
