Really large low angle track

Post by hrho »

Something really energetic has made a very wide track at considerable depth across the bottom of:

Has anyone seen the rest of it?

I'm pretty happy with this being another low angle track; lower left quadrant travelling straight towards top. The particle is definitely a bit below surface. Currently 61 out of 183 have flagged it (rated indeterminant).

Big and enigmatic I'd agree, and seems below surface, but not like an impact track. Perhaps a manufacturing imperfection in the aerogel?

Statistically speaking, it seems low angle (low speed) tracks are more numerous than (typical) tracks from interstellar particles...

I think this is another low angle track, but it's very faint. In any case it was viewed over 200 times before it was clicked.

Here's a reference where to look, click the image to view the FOV.

Hmm, it's a difficult one. At first sight I would have said too it's one, because the focus of the "track" moves from right to left. But on the other hand it could be an item of the gel that play a trick on us because of the surface is not straight but tilted.

Could be, but I see another similiar line under the surface that goes from the top edge, 100 microns from the left, to the left edge, 200 microns from the top. So they're probably cracks.

Another low angle track & terminal partical.

Post by tiggertim »

This movie appears to have a low velocity track, along with a terminal partical. So far about 50 others have though there was something there.

See what you think.

Cheers.

Another low angle track

Spotted this tonight, Showed the family.

Only marked 17 / 209, not a good hit rate.

Right hand side. See what you make of it.

Cheers.
