Post by niejell »

Was just wondering if there are any comet paricle tracks in the movies we are looking through? If not - how is it possible to omit them?

interstellar dust was collected between march-april 2000 and between august-december 2002 through 150days.
The first image of comet Wild2 was made 13. november 2003 from 25 000 000km, at 24. december 2003 was opened different collector for comets dust.

so comet particles and interstellar particles are separated in different collectors. Comet's are relatively big, too (few even visible with naked eye!) and there are few milions of comet particles -- but only few dozens of interstellar particles

Thanks for the info - I didn't realize there were 2 separate collectors.

Actually, there is a single, 2-sided collector.
