How many times are each movie viewed by different users ?

Post by Crystallize »

I noticed that some of the movies I have been watching have been watched over 50 times.

It feels a bit of an overkill, don't you think ?

I think it would be enough with like at most 10 views per movie or so !

Are they short on new movies to show or ?¿

i think it's a good question. but in my opinion, the more people would see movie, the better. but indeed, there should be some limit.

and one more question... how can i get that siganture?:D it's pretty cool!

Sorry, it's made "manually" in PSP as there is obviously nobody wanting to make a stats sig for this project ... I have no means to do it as my internet provider doesn't allow CGI script on their homepage server...

I don't do the whole sig from the beginning every time.
I have a "template" and then I update the numbers manually
every now and then...

No, I think its good. If you look at some of the events, they have been viewed 40-50 times, but only 3 have spotted "something". This would be a good reason for even more reviews. If they should cut down on something, it should be the calibration movies or at least let us know what we did wrong, when we fail one of them.

I think the StarDust investigators were simply trying to get underway with the tiles they had ready. We were all chomping at the bit to start working, maybe we are simply reviewing them much faster than new movies are becoming available. There's a Looooong way to go yet. Take a look at the progress schematic:

Hm. well, I think we are completely overdoing this.

Specially as they send the same movie for scan to the same user several times.

I just noticed that this one I had scanned earlier.
I remember thinking it looked like a "mouth, an ear and a nose"
and now I got it again today.

So obviously they don't have any function so the same movie wont be
sent to the same user again like they have in the "Boinc" projects,
even SETI classic had this function

Would you rather they just cut you off when they can't find any new movies for you to view? That's the logical consequence of the idea of not showing you movies you've already seen.
