Fake tracks

Post by karinagw »

My problem with fake tracks is (surprise, surprise) artificially created. The thing is I can see the point at which the artist starts muddling with creating the artifact and it makes me think it's just another gel glitch. Whenever I go back after I've missed one and really look, I THINK I can see the artificial track, but it doesn't match in quality of artistry the calibration movies I've gotten right and look a whole lot more like tracks (or non-tracks) in non-callibration movies.

So what exactly do you mean by a "fake" track? Some of the CMs are real tracks, but they were created in the lab. Others are "pictures" of real tracks that were pasted in. But I don't think (or at least know of) any tracks that were drawn or otherwise fabricated. Is this what you're referring to, and if so, can you post a link to some examples?

Thanks for the clarification.
