At the movie n° 6581816VI appears something like what you showed in "Viewed from side, etc." in page 0 at:
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... _start.php .
So, is it possible that in the movie n° 6581816VI there is a dust particle viewed from the side, possible because the dust hited the aerogel collector parallely to the scan section?

It is difficult to determine because the focus gets cut off very early in that movie.
It does somewhat resemble a 'chevron' as described in tutorial 5 that is the result of a scratch.
