Can I use images for an article?

Post by Klaus »

Dear Stardust@home team,

as I have reviewed a number of the stardust movies, I got the idea of writing an article for our science club. It is located in Germany and has around 3000 members. Some of them are amateur astronomers. Having some pictures in the article would be nice. Therefore I'd like to ask for permission of using some images from http://www.planetary.org/programs/proje ... story.html or whatever page you allow. Of course, I would place an appropriate citation. Something like "With kind permission of ..." . The article will be written in German language.

Kind regards,

Klaus

Hi Klaus,

While you wait on an answer go to this URL and read whole short thread. Dr Mendez talks about using images.

Hi fjgiie,

thank you for your quick answer and the link. It seems that all pictures related to stardust@home are free to be used. That should include the pics I've pointed to with my link.
I will wait for the official statement.

Thank you,

Klaus

BTW: UC means University of California. Right?

In this context, yes and Berkeley is the main campus I believe.

Feel free to use any of those images.
