What science-related blogs/sites/sources do you follow?

Post by spincrus »

The question is simple:

No matter what the field of science it is, state the blogs, sites, daily features, news sources, RSS feeds, usenet newsgroups, etc. do you follow frequently?

The fields in question include but are not limited to:

- astronomy, general physics, biology, geology, anthropology, sociology, psychology, archeology, social psychology, animal behavior, mathematics, medicine, computer sciences, etc...

Heck, even sites dealing with paranormal issues are welcome!

The main reason I'm doing this is to hopefully make most of our time spent on the Internet to actually access the information, instead of searching for it for hours end.

Let me be the first to go:

- Astronomy Picture of the Day: You all probably know this already. I've been following the APOD since sometime around 2001 or 2002.
- Emergency and Disaster Information Service: Very interesting site, which I became aware of through a forwarded email (one that was forwarded to my mother, who sent it to me and is a forward-junkie herself).
- Money Market Updates: Just a useful link, in my opinion, for those of you who are interested.

I also check regularly an earthquake-related website that provides real-time to 15 minute delayed "broadcasts" of earthquakes that have happened around Turkey (to get a better picture of which fault lines are currently active in the country I live and love, so that I can make my own predictions of what might happen in the future).

More to come later, as I find more :)
