Maybe the universe was expanding so fast that it missed the last exit.

There's an obvious one no one has used yet:

Big

(Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is.)

Nice thread!! My one word for the universe...

'structure'

Not a very pretty sounding word, but [to me] it embodies the 'question and answer' nature of our view of most things -- the big and small of the universe included. [Maybe I cheated with these extra words LOL]

One word

Post by FirstLight »

So ok, I've read through this thread and like all the answers so far, one I thought of but didn't see is:

"Juxtaposed"

You may be asking why this word, so here is my answer. The definition of the word is "unexpected combinations placed side by side." I see the Universe this way. It really is so empty but appears full; it can seem so bright but is really dark; it can be so loud and quiet at the same time; beautiful and deadly; calm and chaotic. I could go on, but I think you get the meaning and probably can come up some of your own.

infinitelysmall... ONE WORD! heh I just made it up.

...compared to the rest of the infinite universes. Hmm, this makes the infinite universes contained in our own seem even smaller.
