Seems the code we entered a bit over a year ago to "exclude" bad PMs like these is no longer working - something to do with the restart in Phase VII. Thus, please keep reporting as we look for a better fix.

Thanks for your assistance and patience!

Dan

Thanks for the report Lily. We've seen PMs like these before and as long as they have a valid track, we tend to leave them as is. Just another quirk I suppose in what must be one of the biggest collections of quirky data out there!

Could we fix or eliminate this one? http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermi ... 2&theY=423
With the Y coordinate being so far out of range, even correctly clicking at the bottom of the screen you get it "wrong." Being a 3-pointer, it really hurts the skill score. Very annoying.

Scheduled for elimination, thanks for catching! Dan

Not a big deal, but are the coordinates for this 73-pointer, http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermi ... 6&theY=374, correct? From what I can make out, it looks like the X coordinate should be farther left, Maybe at 35 or 60. Not worth any fuss, just curious.

OK, this one seems WAY off. There's an obvious Heidelberg track at about 225/275, but it's marked as 44/75. A 17-pointer.

OK, tell me that's not an obvious Heidelberg track at ~115/290. However, it's "wrong" according to http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermi ... 6&theY=184

I believe we've flagged this one before. http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermi ... 5&theY=-64. No reasonable person is going to get it correct. With a Y coordinate of minus 64, if you click where the track leaves the upper edge, you are marked "wrong" because the X coordinate is way off - or you're just too dang far off the Y. Either way, a very annoying 2-pointer. I vote we blow it up.

Nice catches all around Mike, though now I'm a bit concerned that we have a new problem with coordinates being off. In fact, Eduardo already caught and let me know about the problem with 1316742V1. Sigh... Will work on these! Thanks. Dan

Regarding coordinate issues, Dan, I just "missed" this one: http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermi ... 6&theY=366. However, I've always gotten it correct before and clicked in the usual spot. Also, it said it was only a 15-pointer; it's been (I think) a 75-pointer in the past --- perhaps there are identity issues as well as coordinate issues? It feels like I've been betrayed by an old friend.

Does indeed look like an oldy but a goody Mike. The point system is based on past success rate of dusters, and so to me, 15 sounds about right for this one (though I imagine it once could have been 75, as many PM points were changed based on the new scoring algorithm Dr. Westphal employed). However, I would say the place to click is in the far lower left corner, so I would change the X/Y coordinates from 86/366 to something like 20/374. Do you agree? Otherwise, I do feel bad that you missed it! Let's see if we can get you back in good standing with this guy. Dan

No, Dan. I do not agree. This is the one where the actual track diverges from the main feature. There are four views of it - one in each of the four corners. Because people tended to click in the corners instead of the correct location, they were rated as 75 or 80-pointers. This one I click around 75/375 which has always worked before. I've seen the corresponding upper left corner version of this PM, 3475270V1, at least four times since (it is still an 80-pointer), and clicked in the usual spot with no problem. Maybe I just got sloppy and clicked shy of 75 - I'll try to remember to shade it over to the right a bit next time.
Mike
PS Came across the upper right corner version, 2121087V1 - it is also still an 80-pointer.
