not loading movies-problem

Since this (European) morning I'm dusting again (BTW very intriguing), but from the appr. 300 RM's, there were 7 movies not loading (see the numbers below). It seems that the movies are loaded, according to the blue strips on top, but only a white frame with a question mark appears (I'm working on a Mac). The difference with 'normal' loading is that they seem to load very, very quick. I didn't changed anything since I stopped last week with Phase I. So my question: are there other people who has the same problems? Or does someone know what this problem could be?

Here are the numbers:
6219390V1
1029880V1
3471232V1
8047130V1
5634350V1
6863274V1
7432923V1

I had one of the happenings described by marcia, decided to click "bad focus'", did not note the number (sorry) and continued. No harm done to my scores.
It happened within my first 100 movies in phase 2 today (obviously in Europe).

Hallo fflo.
Zou het een Nederlands probleem zijn?:)(Would it be a Dutch problem?)
But, serious, are you working on een Mac or a PC? May be it's computer related?
(I also clicked 'Bad Focus', so no harm done to my scores)

Thanks to the movie ids posted here I've found the broken movies all come from one bad tile so I've disabled the entire batch.

These are real movies so the impact has been on your time, but not on your scores.

Please do continue to post in this thread if there are more non-loading movies

Thank you!

Hallo marcia,
I use a PC and Netscape Browser/Internet Explorer, but thanks to your thoughtful taking notes of the movienumbers, we know from albutterworth: There is neither a "Nederlands probleem" - how could it be - nor one with our computers.
N.B.: A real problem - for the Dusters -seem to be the new CM's, if you read other posts. But this, according to bmendes' annoucement is intended, isn't it?

I had several movies that appeared to only load one frame. The frame did not change as I scrolled. I marked them as bad focus. Unfortunately Im not in a position right now to note the movie numbers. I will next time.

I'm glad the team found the problem. After I posted the first time there were another 6 movies which didn't loaded (after 15'36GMT/7'36BerkeleyTime?):
4479831V1
2725901V1
5459263V1
2038649V1
239906V1
971036V1

And yeah, Fflo, it's a hard time for us dusters. Some 'mistakes' I made, I absolutely have no idea what I did wrong. But I will learn. In Phase I I also did make the most mistakes in the beginning. But an extra problem is, at least for me, that I'm not convinced yet that this, what I call, 'walking dots', are real tracks. I have seen them in phase I too, and clicked on them in the beginning, but later I found them so often that I didn't believed anymore that they were tracks. But for the CM's I will now try to click them. And after one day of dusting I have found already 10 possible tracks of that kind, so I'm still not convinced. But oké, as long as we heve fun...

(P.S. I was absolutely convinced of one thing: it wasn't a Dutch problem('')

Since my previous post I've changed to a better monitor, and it may be that the gel simply has no features. The contrast thats there may be in the imaging. Two examples are 8218902V1 and 4776073V1

5649401V1 comes up blank

VM 7959374V1 comes up empty (using IE 6.0, WinXP) by showing the small "x" box in the upper left corner of the first frame. Also the load guage has a single bar (centered), while the following VM loads normally (and the guage bar extends to both ends).

The URL of this movie is...

http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... rds=?-1,-1

and it was encountered at 11:48pm EDT.

Hope this helps!

I'm so sorry. There was an extra step in disabling this one bad batch that I had neglected to do. They should be gone now.

Thank you all for letting me know.

Movies that only load a few frames is a different problem caused by a hiccough in processing. Click Bad Focus on these, and that will flag them for me to re-do.

cheers!
