Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

OK, this one seems WAY off. There's an obvious Heidelberg track at about 225/275, but it's marked as 44/75. A 17-pointer.

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Dan, I checked out the latest telecon and it seems just fine, I don't think you need to worry about editing any more than you already did. It's easy for folks to skip ahead over any part not of interest to them. (It seems I'll have to try to speak a bit louder next time, though.) I'll check out the ...

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

Not a big deal, but are the coordinates for this 73-pointer, http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermi ... 6&theY=374, correct? From what I can make out, it looks like the X coordinate should be farther left, Maybe at 35 or 60. Not worth any fuss, just curious.

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

Could we fix or eliminate this one? http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermissedviewer.php?movie_vm=9401860V1&theX=212&theY=423 With the Y coordinate being so far out of range, even correctly clicking at the bottom of the screen you get it "wrong." Being a 3-pointer, it really hurts...

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Absolutely, Dan. That was what I meant when I said we might address it "next month." I should have specifically said at the telecon.

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Thanks for the link to the "Science" article, Dan. It made more sense after the background information Dr. Gainsforth provided. It also raised a question that has nagged at me before. Assuming the seven particles are indeed all ISD particles, and the only ones, I had to wonder what the odd...

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Dan, it was a real pleasure to "meet" Dr. Gainsforth yesterday. His enthusiasm is contagious and being able to see the slides really enhanced the discussion. It was very educational and you were both most gracious in answering all our questions - I was beginning to worry we might keep you ...

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Dan, if I understand correctly, we might soon be examining some foils as well as aerogel. If so, will there be any instruction on the website as what to look for in the foils? Perhaps that will be intuitive enough, just wondered. TTY Thursday. Mike

Re: Video for Dust Bowl

I hope you meant the "AutoScan," Dan. I'm going to be really embarrassed if there's an auto focus feature of which I was unaware. Most often, I manipulate the VM manually, but switch to the AutoScan whenever I zoom in to where the bars are inaccessible. I do most of my dusting at 190 zoom,...

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Dan, perhaps not germane to current activities, but in Phase VI we introduced some cometary movies into the mix. I'm curious if anything interesting resulted from that. I think we flagged several potential candidates from those movies - aside from perhaps being smaller, any other differences from th...

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

Thanks, Lily. Here's a similar one, http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermi ... 6&theY=124, but off the left edge. The X coordinate is minus 36. If you click on the visible feature as I did, you "miss" an 8-pointer. Mike

Re: Answers to Qs about: VM, Movies, Scores… UPDATED 6:56pm

It looks correct to me, Evelyn. I see a horizontal feature at 0/180. It's much easier to see at 200-250% zoom.
