More sad scoring CM
Here is another bad CM http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ss_virtual_microscope.php?frame=-1&next_movie=3422229V1&ondeck_movie=9958181V1&no_record=0&key=e96d2ad2&code=&coords=?-1,-1 Clicked on co-ordinates 300,339 and had a point deducted. Points mean little to me but I w...

Re CM 6201084V1
Hi Dee, Checked your CM and found the track at co-ordinates 109,280. When you focus through the movies look for something that stays in focus longer than any other particle or that exhibits different focus characteristics than others. The track on this movie starts out as a dot but at the bottom of ...

Sincere thanks
Thanks jsmaje. I thought that I had everything covered and was amazed to see my score go down. As it turns out one of these CM's is already marked for termination - there is a list of 16 already- but when that will happen is anyones guess. Good to meet you and happy dusting. By the way I didn't stay...

Incorrect scores and My growing anger
Tonight I have terminated my activity in searching for stardust until the stardust team do something about correcting the incorrect scoring on calibration movies. If I am to use my resources, both time and funds, to undertake your research then perhaps you might consider that the benefit we, your wo...

More Eclipse?
Hi Ron,
I see that you are just maintaining your position. It must be hard work on you.
I know that the eclipse photos were small and only at totality - would you like some of the earlier shots before totality?
Phil

Incorrect score
At approximately 1045 UT on 10th September 2007 I came to movie # 879345V1 and clicked on coordinates 255,136 which I believe is a definite CM track. I was marked incorrect. As I am not concerned with the speed of dusting but rather maintaining a high accuracy I was so disappointed that I ceased dus...

Hi Ron
Good Day Ron, I hope you got the photos OK. Good to see you back to dusting. I'm catching up to you - only 8000 odd points behind!!! Have you been experiencing a large number of bad focus movies? I seem to have about 1 in 3 or 4 as bad focus! Also have you noticed that the eye is drawn to that pesky...

Hi again Ron, Sorry to hear that you are not well. I wish you a speedy recovery! I have noted that you are in the Astronomy field and thought you might like some pictures I took of Comet McNaught earlier this year. If so can you give me an email address to send them to. At least they are photos of d...

Shiny spots
Hi Titanium
I'm not sure if this is correct but they maybe holes in the aerogel which go through to the aluminium backing. As the scans are viewed with reflected light the bare aluminium would give a high reflection compared to the aerogel. This is just my thoughts!

Duration of Phase 2
Hi Ronald I don't know how long it is projected to last but if there are 4 50micron movies to each 100 micron scan in phase1 then it looks like 4 times as long! It might even be longer if something isn't done about the bad focus movies. I have only been in the top 100 for about two weeks but am find...
