Re: Skill score decreasing for found movies
Hey, Jason, How YOU doin' on YOUR Skill Score? Looks like you and I are the only two complaining. I checked in this morning with S.S. of .9154. Found three tracks, no errors, and by golly---my S.S. is now .9122. Penalized again for finding three tracks, I quit for the day.

Re: Skill score decreasing for found movies
Hi, Jason, The problem continues. Three days ago my Skill Score was .9170, giving me hope I could move upward from #15 listing. Today, 3 days later, I just did some dusting, and after finding four tracks and making no errors, my Skill Score dropped to .9154. I don't want to continue dusting today or...

Re: Skill score decreasing for found movies
Jason: The question is is it going to be rectified, can't they go back to scoring the old way :?: Jason, To answer your question, I SURELY HOPE SO! Stardust@home is unique in many ways. However, I know of no other business, organization, or system that penalizes folks for doing something right. Evelyn

Re: Skill score decreasing for found movies
Jason, My dusting experience today was: Began with 9168 Skill Score and 17385 Power Score. Found and identified 4 tracks. (No errors) Ended up with Skill Score of .9157, a drop of .0011 points, while Power Score rose to 17500---a rise of 115 points. No chart, jitter or otherwise, can make that right...

Re: Skill score decreasing for found movies
jason/jason, I relate fully to your problem. The reasons for Skill Score descending in response to finding tracks is fully explained under "jitter simulation" topics. Check under "Stardust Problems & Support," --"Answers to questions about movies, scores, etc." and ...

Jsmaje, 12-27-13, THANKS! I'll await your input. Am very curious as to how anyone else manages to advance in Skill Score---and hope you can help me do it, myself. For Pete's sake, when I find an 80 point track, my SS should go up not down! Evelyn (SmthES, ERSTRS)

Re: Answers to Qs about: VM, Movies, Scores… UPDATED 6:56pm
For Dan, who wrote: "I know you'll get a great Skill Score eventually!" Well, I'm back, and naturally had to amass 100 tracks before getting back in Rankings. Things are no better for me. I began with Power Score at 14675. Skill Score began at .9393. By the time I'd ranked up 100 PMs, my P...

Re: Discouraged! UPDATED 6:56pm
Hey, Guys, I am going to take a hiatus until after the holidays. Too discouraged to go on. Five days ago my Skill Score was .9488, and PS = 14145. Found ten tracks without error for the next five days, yet my Skill Score kept dropping with each one. (14145/.9488, 14155/.9482, 14165/.9481, 14185/.947...

Re: Answers to Qs about: VM, Movies, Scores… UPDATED 6:56pm
Speaking of "amazing memory"---my hubby says I never forget anything. I'm curious, are you running a few movies from former Phases? This one came up this morning, and I think I remember it from Phase III or IV, maybe? Movies from those Phases often had two "dust" particle near th...

Re: Answers to Qs about: VM, Movies, Scores… UPDATED 6:56pm
It's just me complaining again about Skill Score. I dusted about 30 minutes, didn't miss any tracks. S.S. was .9537 when I began. Power Score was 12600. I found 5 tracks. Power Score jumped to 12680. Skill Score dropped with each track found. Now equals .9522. It wasn't this way when Phase VI began-...

Dan, Here are two more, without VM I.Ds. I found them in my files. They are of fairly recent origin. Will definitely supply VM number next time---now that I know where to find it! Evelyn (ERSTRS)

Re: Answers to Qs about: VM, Movies, Scores… UPDATED 6:56pm
Dan, There have been several identical movies with tracks in different places. I've kept a file of a few that I saw enough times to remember. This one just appeared, so I copied it number and all, before I clicked on the obvious track in upper right corner. It raised my PS 70 points! Hardly a 70 poi...

Replying to this post: Hi Evelyn, Dr. Westphal would like to take a look at these. Do you have any identification numbers of the PM? Are they still in your movies missed list? Any identifying info you can provide will be very much appreciated. Dan Dan, I don't have the numbers. When I check the ones...
