Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Good to hear you're considering "foiling," John. You'll find it quite different from the aerogel searching since there's no scrolling involved. Have fun scanning for craters. Mike

Re: Rosetta/Philae spacecraft success

Thanks, John. I was looking forward to your post, especially since I didn't get up early (here in Michigan) for the live broadcast. Mike

Re: VISITING THE SSL

Thanks, Augusto. Brings back fond memories of our 2009 visit to the SSL. That hallway floor in the first photo will really throw you for a loop if you look down the length of it - quite an effect, and as we were told, completely unintended. I'm sure your son mentioned it to you. Thanks for the great...

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

Hi, Eric. Welcome aboard. The forum is active, but you've joined at a time when there's a bit of a lull awaiting the loading of new movies. Most dusters are probably working more with the foils right now rather than with the aerogel tiles. You can get some status updates from the Third Thursday Tele...

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

Dan, two comments, possibly for discussion next telecon. 1. Not all the tracks with out of range coordinates need deletion. If they are truly visible, the coordinates just need to be adjusted to where they go off the screen as opposed to where they really terminate beyond the visual field, as Rob ha...

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

While a PM like this might (should) confound newer dusters, I think the veterans are used to coping with such "nuisance" PMs by now. So, I'd agree with Augusto - "let it live." If you want to boost the point value, that's fine, but it should not be a priority for the team. If you...

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

I was staring at that tiny blob earlier today, but in another movie. I think it's part of "Larry," but might be wrong. If you click it, though, it's close enough to do the job.

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

No, "not very obvious" at all, Lily. If one doubles the zoom and strains a bit, you can just make out (or at least imagine) a diagonal HAT going off screen at about 350/0, but --- 17 points!?

Re: ALZ@home problem

Evelyn, I assume you got the appended email from Pietro at Cornell, but I'm pasting it below just in case not. Since April 29th was the last day for the alpha testing, I was just planning to await a follow-up communication to let us know when the beta site, which will be open to everyone, is availab...

Re: ALZ@home problem

John, the Alpha testing actually wrapped up last Saturday, so I don't know if you can still log in. (I just tried, it says "Login is disabled."). We will be notified when the beta test (open to everyone) is up and running. Will try to remember to post here to let people know when it's read...

Re: ALZ@home problem

Evelyn, I might be wrong, but I'm guessing the "25 events" you mentioned are all the movies that you flagged as stalls. To find the calibration or power movies that you've missed, look near the top of the "Your Events" page where it says "Follow this link for a list of power...

Re: ALZ@home problem

I agree, Evelyn. I've missed one also, but there is no indication if it's a "stall" or not. I've studied it a couple times, but still can't tell for sure. It would help to know. Those deeper ones are really tough - at least for me.

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

I also have a conflict. Will try to call in if possible, but unlikely. I would echo Evelyn's comments on items of interest, including how Dr. Westphal's visit to Cornell went and the Alzheimer's alpha site status.

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Dan, since the 25th is Good Friday, I'll be tied up at church at that time. So, I would vote for the 31st. Regards,
