Re: Whine Time

One result is that I've regretably begun adopting greuti's strategy of 'back-buttoning' easy tracks for fear of reducing my skill level, albeit at the expense of my power score! John Please do not call it a greuti ! I'm not the originator and I never would be proud of doing such "dodgy/fishy&q...

In the meantime I will go as high as possible by skipping the obviously lower ones (most of them are old friends anyway).

Re: Whine Time

Okay, admittedly the Skill Score does have its flaws, but the flaws are the same for everyone, so those with a high Skill Score still represent "high skill." Nevertheless, should we just dump it altogether and go only with Power Score? It's a question we're asking ourselves and I'll let y...

Didn't they rescan some tiles last year? Maybe that's happened because of that.

Re: Phase 4 problems

However, my skill score went down each time. I guess I don't quite understand the math behind that. The Skill score is the result of the points (Power Score) you are gathering divided by your number of viewed Power Movies. When the points of a right clicked Power Movie is relevant lower or higher t...

Re: Phase 4 problems

Oh, now I get it. It is a negative coordinated one too ( Y=-5 )! http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermissedviewer.php?movie_vm=5089230V1&theX=420&theY=-5 Ha, ha - first negative coordinates I've seen. I would have thought that a track off the screen would be the same as "No Trac...

Re: Phase 4 problems

This one is counted with 18 points and I got just a miss by clicking No Track: 5089230V1

For 18 points it should still be rather good visible, shouldn't it? Can you spot anything in the movie that's worth to click on?

Re: Tracks and Movies

Hi Evelyn, The Skill Rank on the main page doesn't show currently the intended value. Dan pointed it out some days ago that the values should be calculated from the number of seen Power Movies and the gathered Power Score (as displayed in your account as "Your Skill"), and that it will be ...

Got also counted wrong by this one
Clicked on the dark head of the track by holding the last image (38) of the movie.

Re: "I think I've found a track, what do you think?"

What do you think about this one? At 90/100 the dot seems to remain constant in focus, in contrast to the other features that go blurred with the rate of the tilted surface here. http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=1835458V1 The URL of the images in this movie has the same ...

Re: Variable speed auto-scan?

Hi, Do you know, from time to time there're blog entries on the main page of Stardust@home?! Like this one from December 10, 2010: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/blog/?p=165 So we are viewing currently only two tiles, which are tile I003 and I008. " I am sure many old tiles could use an...
