Interesting features in calibration movies
I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I searched and couldn't find an appropriate topic already started (although I did see a number of scattered comments). Please let me know if there is a different place I should post this. In calibration movie 2910489V1 (at least that's what it sa...

Re: What about this one?
Could be... but with the uneven surface, it's hard to tell. I would probably click it if I was given that movie, just in case.

jcbc, I just don't see it. If you're talking about the mark in the lower part of the upper-right quadrant, I'd say no, that's a chunk of aerogel. Lower right quadrant, best viewed focused at about 15 bars from the bottom. It looks a lateral track with a dark speck at the end; it's more like the mic...

Re: P.S.
I don't want to be too cynical, but it's probably because it doesn't look like a positive calibration movie, even though they have a similar kind of thing in the tutorial and say to click on it!joot wrote: it seems so obvious -- how could 69% of people not mark it???

Re: P.S.
I hope they check it out with a higher power scope soon, but worry that the low flagging rate will de-prioritize it. I wouldn't worry about it too much; just have to be patient... the aerogel isn't going anywhere (I hope!). Here's a similar one that is actually the second event in my list: 9982449V...

According to this topic in Updates , there are about 6000 focus movies per tile. According to this topic about the scanning progress , there are 14 tiles with focus movies ready and in the VM. This would mean that there are about 84,000 focus movies in the VM, not counting the calibration movies. JCBC

Re: Rescan
Just a Question. Will (can) the "out of focus" movies be rescanned on an individual basis? I worry that if a movie gets too many hits and is removed from the list, a candidate could be lost. I believe I read somewhere (don't remember where, sorry)* that they would go back and rescan when ...

Other than not getting the pop-up window asking if you really meant to click (which to me sounds annoying), Firefox works for me; it records my clicks on real movies and calibration movies.baby_alien wrote:When you find a known track using Firefox and click there, Firefox just skips to the next movie..

803951V1 Which of the many things that come into focus at the same time is the one you were referring to? Slightly down and right of the center. Start at around 10 focus bars from the bottom when the spots around there are in focus (or as good as it gets in this movie). Then go down to the bottom o...
