Re: Rosetta/Philae spacecraft success

Thanks, John. It was a very good effort, and probably at least 80% successful despite all the unknowns going into the mission. Sounds like there is yet something to learn from the presumed September finale. Well done.

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Welcome back, Dan. Hope your recovery last month was quick and complete. I believe the main topic for Friday was going to be Dr. Westphal's highlights from the American Geophysical Union meeting, but we'd certainly be interested in the status of the new site for Cornell's Alzheimer's Disease investi...

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

Well, here's one I can't make out. Anyone see anything to click on at 367/375? http://aerogel.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermi ... 7&theY=375

Yep, I see it, Evelyn; and based on Andrew's comments during the last teleconference, it's certainly worth flagging. Happy dusting.

Re: check out # 3091961V1

Well, Evelyn, when I try to view it, it brings up either the current image I'm viewing in foils or, if I'm not actively viewing, the latest image I've viewed. So, I can't comment. Glad that you are finding features of interest, at any rate. Mike

Re: clarification

I would hazard a guess that these designations are associated with non-calibration (i.e., "real") shots from the recent batch that Robert uploaded for us to review. If we click on shots from the first batch he uploaded, we don't see those designations. That's why you probably won't find th...

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

I see that it's posted now, Eagle, top item on the "From the desk of ... " page. There was discussion of foils and Dr. W. demonstrated a couple test movies from the Alzheimer's project whose site should soon be ready for beta testing. Mike C.

Re: check out # 3091961V1

Yes, well, if I'd searched the foils database instead of the aerogel database, I might have found it myself. Doubly   Looks like a definite candidate, Evelyn. By the way, if you are viewing a movie you'd like to post, you can highlight the URL by clicking at the end of the address window...

Evelyn, if I can figure out how to get to it, I'll take a look. I've tried, but my limited 'tech savvy' has failed me thus far. Mike

Yep, the reply function is now accessible, Robert. BTW, my two most prime candidates so far are http://foils.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_ ... =6323627V1 and http://foils.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_ ... d=547462V1. Regards,

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Yes, Dan, Cornell was the main item. Briefly, what Andrew shared was: - The JSC finally started scanning new tile so we should have 'fresh meat' for stardusting soon. - Foils@Home was about ready to launch. - He shared some IS dust modeling info from work by Bruce D----. I didn't catch the last name...

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

OK, Dan. I could post a synopsis myself, but it would be more appropriate coming from the team, I believe. Make sure to ask about the Cornell connection.

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"

Tough one, Lily. I can just make it out at the bottom edge, slightly left of the official coordinates at about 440/375, but you have to be at the very top of the focal range. Go deeper and you lose it. Mike

Re: Third Thursday Telecons

Not sure, but I think we're awaiting Dan's return from vacation to post the last discussion. I'm reluctant to spill the beans myself; rather you get it straight from Dr. W. - hopefully soon. Mike C.
