We’re delaying the launch of the two certificates for two main reasons: - We’re developing a new certificate system - We want to have some time lapse between when we launch and when we release the other certificates. The last reason is mainly because we realized that the first 100 people who signed ...

Thank you from Stardust@home Team

Hi, The Stardust@home team and I want to thank everyone for bringing issues and problems to our attention, whether it's through the forum or by emailing us. As you might know, our Berkeley team is very small, so your vigilance and thoughtfulness makes a big difference. We really appreciate it. If yo...

Hi Timstrange,

It is possible that you're getting those msgs while we were fixing our servers. If that's the case, then you shouldn't be getting those anymore.

However, if you still are, please let us know what browser you're using, platforms, etc.

Thanks and happy dusting,

Update: 1 Aug 2006 - Stardust@home Launch

After months of preparation, Stardust@home has finally launched. However, the website is running slower than expected due to the high number of visitors. We are currently working to fix this. We apologize for the inconvenience and expect the website to be running faster within a day or so. Thank you...

Hi PeteSeeker,

Thank you for your offer. Right now, we are just finalizing a lot of aspects of the project and as far as I know, I can't think of anything that is needed right now. Perhaps other members of the stardust@home team can answer further?

Hi annaz, I must apologize. Text conversation makes it difficult to convey the spirit behind some comments and I will try to keep that in mind and not generalize and concatenate ideas in the future... right after this: Your design logic is perfectly sound and I am in total agreement with you. I hav...

We're also going to have to rescan some of the tiles, so I wouldn't worry about running out of movies for everyone :D

Re: Saving or referring to movies

Will it be possible to save a movie to your computer, or just as well, to call up and view a particular movie you may have seen? This would be nice if you think you may have a track, or just an unknown object, and you want to discuss it with other people on the forum. Thank you We're developing a p...

Hi Everyone, With the way everything is now, it will be impossible for us to tell the volunteer if they are the first person to find a track. From my understanding, when we have enough data, we're going to look at which movies that have a high percentage of containing a track. Then those movies woul...

Hi Everyone, Just to clarify, the chance of someone randomly clicking, clicking, clicking just so they can get through as many movies as possible AND actually clicking on a track is very minimal that’s it’s next to impossible. Our goal, as many of you have already stated, is to find stardust, not to...

If I got it right, the actual project has not been set off yet. Am I right? If so, is there any date to be expected? I am using gmail and I am worried I might miss your mail due to spam-filtering. Hi Verenique, The actual project is not ready yet but the announcement of when it's going to open to t...

Re: Left-handed VM

Hi Matt... I don't know if/when you can answer this, but would you consider an option to have the focusing bars on the left side of the focus movie? I have to switch my mouse over to my left and it's making me realize how right-hand oriented the web is. Part of the reason why we have the focus movi...
