Need fourth option at bottom of blue scroll lines

NASA, I found something of interest in sample URL below, but there is no option at bottom of blue scroll lines where I can alert you that this sample contains an "interesting feature." If I click on the sample, it will count against me since it doesn't contain a Track. Therefore I've been ignoring i...

How old is everyone?

Thanks, Sydney, I am filled with the same wonder as I search for stardust on a machine (iMAC) that I never dreamed of back on a hot July day in 1969 when I watched Armstrong put a foot on the moon. The miracle of that moment has never left me. That NASA would give us the privilege of being the first...

Am I the oldest duster? (77.5 yrs. old)

Anyone old than I am? I was born June 20, 1929. I joined as a duster in August 2006, and haven't missed one day searching for particles since that time, because I am having so much fun. Dusting brings back wonderful memories of my days as a lab-tech in coal, water, and fuels testing. I'd like to kno...

Publish Rank list of top 200 dusters?

When I signed on in August 2006, a list of the top 200 dusters was available under Rankings. Now all I can find is a list of the top 100 dusters. Could you give us the top ranked 200 again? I'm interested because I've reached #192, and I would love to see who my co-members are. Thanks, ERSTRS

When will project end?

Reply to Bryan and "the moon," Thanks, Bryan, for letting me know this project may continue to next summer, and thanks to "the moon" for his sympathetic reply and suggestions. I was born June 20, 1929, and am an old retired lab-tech, living in a retirement community in Charleston,WV. And, yes, I thi...

When will volunteer project end?

How much longer will we be dusting for particles? Is there a projected end to the volunteer part of the project? Today is December 13, 2006. I've been dusting since August 11, 2006.

large object- 100 microns long

Lower left side of sample. 100 microns long by 40 microns wide, looks like a hollow piece of tubing. What could this be? Here's what a teensy-tiny Track looks like

I found this one this morning (11-21-06) while dusting and almost missed it. Focus all the way to bottom of focus lines and you'll see it near the center of the lower left quadrant. It is the only spot that is in focus. Notice that it appears dark without a light center, and when you focus slowly up...

Here's what TRACK looks like

These movies were judged as "correct" when I read them. Therefore, I thought I'd pass them on to those who are having difficulty in deciding what a Track looks like. In my experience, a track is ALWAYS in focus at bottom of focus lines. If a particle IS in focus on the bottom, but is a black dot tha...

Found awesome particle in this movie

http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =1638483V1

Upper right, near corner, you can't miss it. It isn't a track, so I didn't click on it, but it is a brilliant
and beautiful particle of some kind.

What does my Rank really mean?

bulamark, Thank You for your reply. I am a 77 year-ol gal living in a retirement home. (I was a lab tech) I couldn't believe, when I signed on August 10, 2006, that I would be able to find the paricles. But, I was willing to try. When I got up to Rank 281, I thought, Whoa! This can't be true! I'll p...

What does my Rank actually mean?

I've worked hard since August 10, and enjoyed every minute of it. Hope to continue to the end of the project. Here are my current stats, and I wish someone would tell me what they mean. Does my Rank of 281 mean that there are 280 dusters ahead of me? I'm just trying to figure it out. My main motive ...

photograph appeared in my CM

Tonight, Nov. 3, 2006. at 7:35 PM (est) a photo of a woman with three children standing in front of her appeared in CM 6008172VI. It was in color and a good clear photo. It appeared near the bottom half-dozen lines, and lasted throught focus of two lines. Anyone know what is going on here? Evelyn R....

slow loading CM

Today, Nov. 3, 2006, the StarDust site was down all morning. I tried with three browsers to access it without success. This afternoon the site is up and running, but it is taking 5 minutes to load the CM. It usually takes one minute or less---and I've been testing since Aug. 11, so I am comparing th...

Rank and Score explain please

Can anyone explain Rank and Score to me? It is Sept. 5, 2006 as I write this. Membership is 14132. My score is 466. Rank is 1572. Does that really mean that I'm in the upper 11 percent of testers? I can't believe that since I have such a low score of 466. Can anyone help me understand this better? A...
