Wild2-dusting results published

Suggest you re-post to the same topic - Stardust in the News - already raised in the Discussion forum. In "defense" of fflo, she probably picked the correct forum category for this type of post, although it's really no big deal one way or the other. Thanks for the various suggestions. I thought ind...

Here's an angle we haven't really explored yet: Is there ANYONE on the board who has NOT had these JavaScript errors? Usually I am working on my computer (Windows XP, Internet Explorer besides Netscape ) in the Netherlands. These days I am vacationing in Dubai, were I use my son's system (Windows X...

Re: Glitch

Hi Howie; When I see a problem with access to a site I want to see if similar sites or pages have the same problem. To focus on one situation alone does not help me see a solution. Groundling I experience that "my events" page is also gone. I am presently not on my own computer, I am using Mozilla ...

Re: Issue 5 – JavaScript wouldn’t load images

I also found that it only happens to me in the Firefox browser and if I switch to IE, I do not get any more. This phenomenon is wellknown, not really harmful and it does occur - once in a while - in my system with both, Netscape Browser and Internet Exporer. I.e., I don't think it depends on the br...

"cheaters" vs science!

The idea of only giving certificates to those who actually find a certified track is the best idea. For making the top 100, the satisfaction should be enough. One could not but fully agree with this suggestion! Furthermore: If a cheater is found, be fair, communicate etc. ......... I am sure you re...

The 2 highest-rated candidates

On Aug.28, 2006 I gave my opinion on ALPHA and BETA. Sinds then I didn't pay attention to this thread, but today I got a "Topic Reply Notification" and browsed through the pages. My List of Data Viewed contains presently 207 Events, and none of these have more than 55% of Agreements, most of them mu...

CerialKiller's Program

For the peace of mind of some fellow volunteers in this project: On Wednesday Oct. 11, 2006 Yes, CerialKiller is a program. and I already wrote an email to the staff about this account when it was 10th. So, let the Berkeley team and CerialKiller work their way in this phase of the StarDust Project, ...

Relative Newcomer

As a relative newcomber to S@H, my stats are NOT that different than CK's! (97%/90%). Here is one reason for using the eyes of the numerous humans in this part of the StarDust project. We are looking for the unknown tracks and not for Calibration Movies. If your statistics are as poor as 97%/90% on...

Movie 9471219V1 230 / 127 Passed cut 2 IS candidate? http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=9471219V1 Yes, a most interesting movie. I've not had it in my list, but have seen references to it in the forums. At first sight it does look very much like the classic calibration tr...

Re: Program

And for reasons I've posted elsewhere I have a strong suspicion that the actual tracks are among the smallest features. Indeed, it would not surprise me if the blurring from the jpeg format is sufficient to hide the tracks we are looking for. At least this item from My Events' list shows that Tom_G...

CK-program

Why do they give points to people who recognize a track on a CM? To encourage people to click on CM's is then not the best strategy to find "real" tracks. This is perhaps not the best but certainly a good strategy to keep people going. You want to help finding the real unknown thing - and that mean...
