I only have five events that I have marked, and I've searched nearly 2,300 movies. How do some of you come up with hundreds of events in your list?

I have gotten many of these "reduced" focus bars. I think it's just the imaging process that those certain areas of the aerogel went through. There were probably just less frames taken for that sample for whatever reason. I don't think it has to do with any browser problems if you were won...

I would only think this a sign of a fast internet connection! Nothing to worry about, although personally I have not seen this happen. Usually the first bar fills up all the way and then the second afterwards. It could just be the display that's slightly delayed or something. Still, it's nothi...

This sounds more like a hardware problem to me. The AOL package may have filled up your hard drive or memory enough to make everything else go slow. Since you say you had problems after using AOL, I might think that the AOL "cached up" your memory. This is where the program saves files of ...

Even if movies only have one agreement, they will still eventually be checked out by the science team, as cthiker has said. The thing is that they will just investigate the ones with high agreements first and go down the list from there.

Hello, pepperammi. After "doing some research," I have learned that all of the calibration movies were made in the lab, and not out in space. Therefore, it is impossible that an actual interstellar dust particle or anything else of interest could be in a calibration movie. However, I hear,...

I joined on May 18. I think I was one of the first ones on the memberlist. I started dusting on the second day because my internet connection was messed up on the first day. I haven't really made that much progress though, with only a score of about 550.

I still think that is just a scratch in the aerogel, and not a track. I have seen several of these triangular features in movies I have reviewed, and I'm sorry to say that I don't think they are tracks. Candidate tracks should look somewhat similar to the ones on the tutorial. Keep searching! Schloc...

Re: How is your browser working?

Up until yesterday, I had been using Safari to search for dust, simply because it has been my default browser. With Safari, everything loaded quite slowly. If I saw a track, I would have to click on the possible track, then a window would appear asking if I would like to confirm that there is a tra...

Good questions. A few of the answers can be found in the "Finding Stardust" article and the tutorial . As for the questions about the effects of gravity on the aerogel, I don't know. That's an interesting topic of discussion. Still, I think the particles are locked in pretty tight and woul...
