Topic: Why there are only 45 interstellar dust particles?

I would imagine that stellar dust particals would come in pairs or small groups "sometimes" due to their attraction to each other through static electricity. This might mean that the "groups" are farther apart, but it would be nice to see more than one partical per track.

The researchers are counting on those who view with the most care. That's all that matters. If people feel they are viewing with the most possible accuracy(the only thing that matters), then they are doing the best they can.

I do not think you are reading my posts. I am not saying that what you are doing seems impossible...I think most people could do it. The tough part is doing it with highest accuracy. Most people don't do it that fast because accuracy fails. Again, missing easy calibration videos shows that one is no...

No one has called Robert Evans a cheater. I havn't anyway. I havn't called you a cheater either. I do not think you can even cheat at stardust@home. The goal of stardust isn't a score, its number of dust particals found. How can you cheat at that? I would like to see Robert Evans memorize the surfac...

I don't understand why people are posting that faster is better or that I am upset because I can't view video's faster than you. I am only saying that by viewing one every few seconds, you are missing 3 out of every 100 (of the easy movies!).

Robert Evans was an astronomer who observed galaxies at a rate of 1 per minute over a time span of 4.5 days. Taking 77 days to complete this. How is that even comparable to stardust in aerogel? It is improbable to look through a 12" dobsonian telescope at a clear spot in the night sky and NOT s...

Sorry, I saw that +3 next to 36 and thought you meant 39...heh However, who says 97% is good? That's 3 out of 100 wrong. Sure that's good in school, but when we are looking for a needle in a haystack of haystacks, 97% seems pretty inaccurate. With a 1 in 40,000 chance of finding a track, missing 1,2...

I do not mean to rag, but how have you missed 39 calibration movies? The calibration movie tracks are supposed to be the easiest tracks to spot. If you've missed 39 of the easiest to spot, imagine how many possible real tracks you might miss. It might not bother you to miss tracks and it's really no...

I agree, movie 3 is pretty suspect. It seems to come into focus JUST after everything around it. Never know though!

Seems logical that they would "BOLD" the event or something if you were the first to spot it. Wouldn't be too tough to do IMHO.

Promising movies? Most "Number of Agreements"

I currently have a movie with 5 agreements(15 views) and one with 4 agreements(15 views). Promising?

Anyone else have a "agreeable" movies?

How can you tell by looking at your events list if you were the first to spot one? You can't say its by looking at the number of agreements. The numbers of agreement are changing on mine. It is possible to see that 3 people agree yet I was the one who discovered it first. Correct?

I agree. The more movies I do, the slower and more meticulous I seem to get. Now I spend at least 20 seconds on a movie that is not a test and has good focus. I've viewed over 550 movies and have gotten all of my 135 calibration movies correct. I believe this is important because if I miss a few of ...
