I can't imagine why anyone would willingly have a limited ISP in this day and age of multi-gigabyte files and streaming media. Agreed. Any kind of limit with respect to amount of data downloaded is stupid. My ISP plan has low bandwidth, but I'd rather have low KB/s than ANY GB/month limit. As for C...

My initial impression after the new tutorial and tests is that I will be doing it wrong, ie. not having fun. The test seemed to try hard to frustrate me, I clicked in one that seemed to have even a particle at the end of the track, but it said I was wrong and pointed somewhere else with some vague &...

Have you also noticed the INSANE CPU usage while moving focus? How can somebody run both SETI and Stardust together, if Stardust uses so much CPU time? One would think that Stardust uses your brain, and SETI uses your CPU, but with such an inefficient virtual microscope, there isn't much CPU left fo...

I'm right now having problems with the new test movies. I clicked on something that looked quite like a track, but it said it was incorrect and pointed out there was a track in a different place. Here's the last frame: http://s3.amazonaws.com/stardustathome.testbucket/test_train/fm_76050_32453a/fm_7...

So, I checked out the database and was able to determine that since Phase 2 started about 2,400 people came back and gave it a try. The email about Phase 2 went out to every registered duster (24,000+). So about 10% of the Phase 1 dusters came back to check things out. Of those about 1,800 actually...

Security bug on VM
I found a bug on Stardust VM that could lead to security issues. I don't really want to post any details on the forum, since people might try to do bad stuff with it.
Please somebody from the team contact me via email or forum PM.

Thanks AH for reply. Have a win2000 and win98 computer. Java is java2 Platform Standard Edition V1.5. (build 1.5.0_06-b05) and IE6 also only a 56k dial up. Win2000 focusing OK,98 focusing very slowly when I use the slider. Norman Java != Javascript. Stardust uses Javascript, not Java, so that's not...

I just got the email saying Stardust will be running soon :o After reading all this thread, I would like to add my comment. I am against the whole naming thing. I'm usually quite unlucky, so I think my probability of finding a track is very close to 0. I would really prefer not to participate than t...
