Quite simply, there are no tracks so far that look like the calibration and training movies. Not a one. People are doing their job, which is to look for things like the ones in the calibration and training movies. I agree that it's better to click than to not click, and I still click on the "in...

I have a rank of 728, so I have no vested interest in this discussion. First of all, have you read any of the other threads on this topic? Maxim himself made a detailed post on how he manages his crazy scores. From memory, he said something like he spent 16 hours yesterday doing this, since he's on ...

Liquid on the aerogel?

Vampus found a bizzare movie. Besides being very cool looking, it seems to have liquid on it.

Jaco, I'm currently 750th, partially because of time and partly because of bad connection. I could keep up Maxim's pace easily with two windows on a good connection. I don't, and I won't do 16 hours a day like him, so I'll stay below the top 100. But he's not cheating.

I like the rank system. I'm currently in 750th place, so I have no bias. It gives me a way to measure progress, and a reason to do more work. I'd have done half of what I've done without a ranking system.

(And I'm 98/98, so I'm not being sloppy.)

36408 42436 44849 All of these have the sort of small under-the-surface particles we've been seeing a lot of. 42714 This one is interesting. It's very hard to see, but it's in the top left section below the surface. Opinions? Any takers? Especially look at: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/my...

just something i noticed. I have a movie with 3 medium tracks 3 small tracks and one very small track. I'd like to see my movie with a deeper field of view. Anyway my movie is one number different from yours. I'm not sure if they are really next to each other but the numbers are. I've also noticed ...

Look at your events as soon as you click on it. If there's one agreement, that means you're first.

There's an obvious one no one has used yet:

Big

(Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is.)

This is an interesting exercise. The temptation to name it after yourself or some sort of "inside joke" would be strong. If I avoided the temptation I'd probably name it after something I like in literature or politics. Like: -Asimov -Ender -Algernon -Elphaba -Locke -Jefferson -Liberty Etc...
