Hmm well reading this thread http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=504 it sounds like they may be flaws in the gel? It sure is hard to tell the difference between those and a real track http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ss_virtual_microscope.php?&ondeck_movie_id=11012...

What is going on with movies 39000-43000

So far I've determined movies 9999 and below are calibration movies with no track. Movies 10000 to ~14000 have a high chance at a calibration track. What really intrigues me though are a lot of the movies in the 39000 to 43000 range. A majority of the tracks found are coming from these movies. They ...

Hmm yeah actully after reviewing it more it looks like a potential good track. After looking at how it focuses relative to other stuff it does look like something unsder the surface.

The first one is gel. 28841 looked like gel at first since it wasn't a complete ring and looked like it reflected on the side. There isn't a lot in the area to look at to determine if its under th surfaced but after looking at it closer it seems to come into good focus under the surface. 41924 is in...

Even easier is any movie 9xxx is no track calibration. And movies 1xxxx are most likely calibration movies and most have tracks.

A much easier way is to just edit a "My Events" link, so that it's "read-only", I guess you could put it: they can view the movie and focus, but they can't click it or anything. No, that only works with real movies. you can't view the testing movies like that. It will show the w...

I actully see 2 possibilities for #1. The faint one on the lop left. Another one in the middle close to the bottom.

First one looks like an anomoly in the gel. You've got a good one on the second movie though.

If you follow my directions it will work. You must log in and paste the link on a page with a VM microscope already in use. You will just get a message that says your submission won't count but you can still view the movie.

I was skeptical about this type of track until I saw calibration movies use these same exact types of tracks. They are extremely rare movies. Of 280 calibration movies I've only seen it used 3 times.

Sasari, I don't see any in any of those. I see what I think you might have chosen, but don't see those as tracks. :? In a VM microscope page paste the link http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ss_virtual_microscope.php?frame=-1&next_movie_id=35874&ondeck_movie_id=10465&no_record=0&...

Nice find, if you were the first one to find it and it turns out to be good I don't see why not. I have 3 of these in my events now. I think I was the first on 1 or 2 of them. I think the 3rd was given to me to help verify it though.
