Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"
Usually that's the case, Evelyn. This track, as stated, is missing the X coordinate marker, so it is not obvious where the actual track is located. Glad you've been finding this a useful resource. Mike Hi Mike, This is a very tough one but I think that I see it at (x) 250, (y) 10. What was the y ma...

Re: Phase VII
When you go to http://curator.jsc.nasa.gov/stardust/catalog/index.cfm, a page "loads" and when it's done, you get sort of a blank looking screen, but there are four drop down menus at top as follows with all sorts of tables and other data: Catalog Information, Search Catalog, Cometary Sam...

Re: Phase VII
Hi John, I noticed that there are new movies available which is nice for anyone who wants to be the first to find a track. Also when I accessed the 'Ranks' section and viewed the skill scoring from previous phases, I noticed that the scores were different than what I remember (new scoring algorithm?...

Re: Embroidered patch for all Dusters available now
If anyone else orders one, please post a picture of what you stitched it to here - that would be fun to see  Good idea Dan, let me be the first to post a picture of my patch (which I have just received today) and myself! Thank you Tom! I am very pleased with the result. The quality o...

Re: "I think I've found a track, what do you think?"
Interresting stuff Tiburd.
They all look like tracks to me too. Most interresting one in my opinion is 8955430V1. It seem to have a track AND a fiducial, both in the same movie. I've never seen one like this before. Cool.
See you all next week for phase 6!

Re: "There's a problem with this focus movie"
This CM is worth 11 points therefore it should be easy to find, but I cannot see it. I'm pretty sure the calibration track is off the screen since the red markers says it should be located near the bottom edge of the movie. http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/powermissedviewer.php?movie_vm=137609...

Re: How do I show found track?
Would it be possible for you to launch your browser without loading any add-ons? If you are using Internet Explorer, go to your Start menu and select Run. Then type the following (without the quotation marks): 'iexplore -noext' This will launch Internet Explorer while temporarily disabling add-ons u...

Re: How do I show found track?
Hi Steve, Sorry it took me a few days to reply to your message. When you find a track, all you should have to do is single click it. It should move on to the next movie immediately afterward without having to do anything else. You do not need to double click it. I can do some test from my end and tr...

Meteorite Men
Yesterday I was watching a new television show called 'Meteorite Men' which is about 2 guys travelling the world searching for meteorites that have fallen on Earth. It’s an interesting TV show, nothing too complicated and you get to learn a few things here and there. (I watched it from cbc.ca websit...

Re: Skill Score
I was thinking about the same thing the other day John and I think I can give you an answer (someone might want to confirm). If you look at your VM account options, notice that they have added the option to hide your name from the top score ranking (this was one of my skill score proposal). I’m assu...

Re: "I think I've found a track, what do you think?"
Thanks Mike! I have been accumulating those for some time actually. I believe that I was first to click on the two first ones only. I like to post all the good candidates that I come accross (even the fiducials sometimes), these are like gold to me... actually it could be something way more valuable...

There might be something of interest in there. I checked them all and I could not find those in the alpha list. http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=914445V1 http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=6493751V1 http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myeven...

Phase 4 tracks!
I have just read that the team has found a dozen or so tracks during phase 4. This is great news and I just wanted to say that I cannot wait to see the results!
Good job everyone!
