Help with forum search function please.

I have been trying to search to see if anyone has commented about a movie I saw and the search function comes up either empty or overloaded depending on the options I check and the text I enter. The link below isn't the one I have been looking for, rather it is from the "I think I found a track...

When you look at movies they are stored on your computer as temporary internet files, too. It is easier for me to copy them from there than to count bars and hope I didn't miss one while saving them individually as I view them. I worry that I will press the left mouse button instead of the right, re...

Why use an MRI program? Hmm...

Scion Image is a Windows port of Mac software developed for the National Institutes of Health. I got it for free. Lots of nice filters, including FFT frequency domain, but steep learning curve.

Hi Sharqua It for sure isn't the track the arrow points toward in the movie. I'll admit it had me going for a few days but I have rationalized it, in my mind, to be a surface particle which looks progressively more blurry as the focus moves down. It didn't really jump out at me when I did the virtua...

Image Processing The Movies ?

I imagine that somebody here must like to experiment with image processing software. I tried a couple things to see if I could find an easy way to spot the tracks. I guess I'm not smart enough to do that but I did get some interesting pictures; well interesting to me, anyway. I don't feel too guilty...

If I find one it will probably be called "Trumpler". I did some googling to try to find who discovered interstellar dust and so far this seems to be the guy who comes closest. Of course, before making my final choice, I would ask the Stardust at Home scientists "Who discovered interst...

One of my fondest memories of Boy Scout summer camps with the troop was a special neckerchief slide the scoutmaster would carve for anybody who could build a fire to burn through a piece of twine suspended 18" above the ground. We could only try once and could only use one match. The slide look...

I remember reading about overlap and, luckily, it didn't take me long to find the article again. Here is a link and an excerpt. Link to Planetary Society Article Here's how it will work: as in the original plan, the automated microscope will scan the entire surface of the collector, recording digita...
