I still find satisfaction participating in the StarDust project. I just finished looking at my 5005th movie.
However it is ok to take a break.
I am coming back after a 2 week hiatus 8)

How many are still participating?

I am curious about how many active dusters there are. I believe there has been about 20,256 people that have participated in the search for IS dust, but how many are still participating? And I wish to say thanks to the Stardust Team for the opportunity to search. The project is great fun. I am alway...

Yes for Alpha Yes for Beta I would have clicked on Alpha for sure. Very nice track. Beta would have given me pause. It looks like a tilted tile with poor focus...on the other hand the object looks soooo much like a track that I would have clicked it to be on the safe side . I have viewed over 5500 m...

I have been searching since 8/8/06 and I have viewed over 4000 movies.
The only acknowledgement or reward that I need is to be able to log on to stardust@home, access the VM, and search for stardust.

Thanks Stardust Team and Support Staff

Boring is not a term I would use to describe the opportunity to discover an INTERSTELLAR DUST PARTICLE. Please realize...this means a bit of matter from another star or nebular dust cloud...something from outside of our own solar system. We are searching for a never seen before treasure of unimagina...

Wow, 20 seconds per slide is a hare? Your search stategy seems very sound. Mine is similar. I probably take about 10 seconds per slide Once I find the surface, I quickly focus down and up in order to watch the changing images at each inclusion (whether at surface or below surface) to get a feel for ...

Hmmm. I just clicked on an inclusion, which is my general policy, and this was counted as a wrong hit on a calibration movie. Are we being discouraged from clicking on inclusions??? Statistics for oscar Your Overall Score: 702 Total Movies Viewed: 2634 Your Rank: 715 out of 11828 Specificity:...

Our goal is to find interstellar dust. Everything else here is just technique to find the dust. While the calibration movies and examples are very helpful to point us in the right direction, the Stardust guys & gals also say expect the unexpected . My two cents...take your time, examine the movies v...

About 50% of the movies I ID'd have the small spots. Most of the other ones where mistakes I found upon review of the movies due to bad focus.I have seen two that look like the calibration movies...but still may be focus issues???
