Re: Sideways track example....
I have reported a sideways track example and it is currently at the "in 1st review" stage of StarDust@Home's official comments. http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=8153179V1 Now there's a clear track! Thanks for the link. I hope when the training material is upda...

If memory serves me right, the gel was exposed to the dust trail for several days, before returning to Earth. According to the article Interstellar Dust: The Hunt for the Building Blocks of the Universe by Amir Alexander in The Planetary Report [/url] vol. 26 number 4, the gel was exposed up to sev...

...and if a further link is needed, there's a page of "science-in-depth" at the beforementioned JPL website. I think I'll read it through, too
Thanks, Wolter

Re: Track agreements?
Briefly (in my opinion); it could be someplace else.Oberon wrote: Does the agreement mean that they saw a track at the same spot that I did or could it be some place else in the same movie?

Re: Slightly discouraged?
The problem is, they only have something like 60000 movies in the VM. Actually, to be specific, a software-generated random number is not necessarily that random. It depends a lot on the algorithm used. Add that to the fact that when - say, a couple of hundred - simultaenous users are going through...

Re: Stardust at home not very fun any more
This isn't a game and the scores seem to be for the elite that have hundreds of hours per week and nothing else to do. You're right, this isn't a game. And I've got only an hour or two per day maximum since I got a lot more things to do in my life. Which is good - my eyes would get sore from watchi...

Re: focus often way too low
I would appreciate any pointers as to how shallow a focus ought to be permitted without hitting "bad focus. For some guidance, please check this out. In general, if you feel you can't really make a judgement of whether there might be a track or not because of a focus problem, hit "bad foc...

Yo. Been a science and astronomy hobbyist since I was able to connect a two pieces of Lego blocks together, here I find myself at my starting 30's, looking off- and on-focused images of stuff that resembles a lot of the jelly stuff that you can nowadays find in domestic gel-candles... I've p...

Reverse focus
I noticed today that in some movies the focus is reversed  so that "Focus Up" seemed to actually be "Focus Down" and vice versa. There was still scope to see deep enough, though, so I didn't mark them 'Bad Focus'. Any encounters, others? I didn't get the movie numbe...

Re: seven people thought so... don't know why though
So, I flagged this one, ... I apologize my English and that I'm not up to the terminology yet, but do you mean "clicked Bad Focus" when telling you "flagged"... :?: Reading through this topic I would assume that you do, but just to be sure. Viewed the movie and I would click on ...
