Phase I movies mixed in with Phase 2 movies?

I noticed last evening that there appear to be some phase I movies mixed in with Phase II movies. Is this by design or a glitch? Just thought I should bring it up just in case it's a glitch. And as foretold for Phase II, it is much harder, especially when discerning between possible tracks or inclus...

Slow Loads

Servers are still very slow and occasionally skipping pieces of movies causing Java Script errors to pop up. I'm using a cable modem and my current download speed, testing from here in PA to LA is 1250kb (or 1.25 meg per second which is actually not that great). From here to D.C it's 2496kbps. (Test...

On Programs and Teams...

PoppaFred, It's all about the science. Period. Even the computer programs you mentioned are about the science. They have been an attempt by programmers to identify tracks and nothing more. This has been admitted by those that have tried, and those that are trying. No one knows whether those programs...

A point...

I've noticed within this thread that some people have developed certain criteria for determining whether there are inclusions or possible tracks within a focus movie. I was using the same criteria as many have stated that they are using. I got to thinking about one of those points though and decided...

We figured it out - Definately Iridium Flare

We were watching again last night and experienced the same thing, in the same area of the sky. What it looks like is that as the sattelite comes in to view, it is blocked from the sun, as it gets to a point on the horizon, it is no longer blocked and lights up. Traveling further, it becomes unblocke...

I was wondering If anyone else saw...

an apparently fairly large meteor that skimmed our atmosphere and then kept on going last night. It was off to the East and appeared sometime between 9 and 9:30 (I think). It started off as a small moving speck running north to south, got very large and bright for about 10 or 15 seconds and then dim...

Click below for MSNBC Story... http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14188978/?GT1=8404 Luckily, we live very close to Cherry Springs State Park here in PA. Might go up there to watch if the weather permits. For those of you who've never heard of it, Cherry Springs is one of the Darkest spots in the Eastern Unite...

Me too...

Just got burned on the same thing. I don't know if it was the same movie or not though. I had been clicking them too because there had been no official answer on the subject of inclusions. Why miss the possible discovery of something without having a real answer on what exactly an inclusion looks li...

Thanks for your thoughts

You could all be right, very well right, you know you've got a right to say. I took that all into consideration when I was looking at it. I did see the fold and how it focused near it and took that into consideration. Unfortunately, there was no other Surface features to guage by other than the chip...

Clearest Track seen

This is the clearest I've seen so far that resembles the tracks in the training and calibration movies... http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=9806342V1 Focus down to the bottom of the focus range and you will easily see it. This is not a calibration movie. It's the real deal.

I do have a high Ranking at the moment. I could care less about the scores. The Rank says how you're doing in the accuracy department, which is what I feel is most important. I have never looked at the URL to find out if a movie was real or a fake. Yes, it is very easy to tell the "Doctored" calibra...

Maybe one for the Bad Focus FAQ?

I just ran across a movie that just misses the usable focus range but I can see that something just starting to come into focus below the surface. Although I can't verify that it is a track, should I mark it or hit the bad focus button?

Need better examples of large tracks...

because I just got burnt on 2 qualification movies which appearead to have large tracks. I looked at the example given with the "Examples" page. And both tracks I got burnt on looked very much like the example given. I think that these may be the only thing preventing me from keeping my stats where ...
