I don't think it's a bug, I think it's done for mainintenance and pc-time saving purposes. Rank calculating have been stopped, and #65535 is for new users only. My rank has been frozen at about 1500

Compression quality difference is not 100%. The main "security" issue is in the image url that can be easily viewed by anyone.
