New phase

Thanks, people, for taking the trouble to send an e-mail about the next phase. I haven't clocked up any great scores - but for me one of the most important elements has been feedback about the project. I look forward to taking part in the next phase, if I may, even if my input is relatively low. Tho...

I have to apologise for my earlier posting, now that my cat has read it. I did not mean to infer or suggest that anyone should cut off any part of my cat's hairs, either now or in the future, for any reason whatsoever, including reasons of scientific research and (he wants to add) any forensic connn...

But nice when you feel, for a tiny moment, that you felt the touch of a breeze on your cheek..?

Latest update

I just wanted to say thanks for the latest update. It's the sort of feedback that I've wanted, as a semi-pseudo-scientist-manque'. It makes me feel happy. And, for those of my friends who see the A4 copy on my wall of the movie which has a "possible" on it (circled in green and marked &quo...

Why do we do it? And why are we doing it?

Two quite different questions .. and the first has as many answers as there are dusters. Maybe the second question could do with an answer, though, even if it's just repeating what may have already been said. I must say that I don't really know what is planned to be done with positive OK-ed particle...

Thanks, Nikita No, I wasn't the first to click on that one - not that I mind. Referring to it as "Denise's stardust" is just a personal matter between me and the speck (it's only a poor, tiny thing, but I feel a certain warmth for it) - I don't mind sharing it! But I found the wording very...

info on "possibles" please

Having had nothing but "indeterminate" appearing for months, then a couple of "1st cut, unsure ... (however it's phrased) - and also having seen no reports of findings (or possibles) when glancing through the forum, I was quite surprised ti suddenly find a "possible interstellar ...

:D :D :D "Possible interstellar dust particle" has appeared on one of My Events !!! Co oooo . That's rather more than I'd expected. Only possible, yes, but I still feel a bit comfy and wiggly about it. Silly, in a way. But important in a bigger way I feel. Oooh, I AM stardust, and maybe I'...

 It wasn't such a bad word really. But it had only just happened and I was jolly well fed up about it.
I like Nikita's euphemism - it sounds good and [in English English], to be "ticked off" is to be chastised.
But I'm OK now. :D :? :( :o :D

Thank you for explaining, both of you. (And my apologies to Zack for my flippant comment ( re "pipe in" for welders). I'd meant to follow it up. It's frustrating though, specially for someone like me who (by profession) has a little knowledge here and there and so thinks it should be easy....

Totally and utterly ticked off, since you ask. The first 9 were different. Then I went ages and ages. And they got me on a "bad focus". I notice that I say "they" now... But my music keeps jumping and stopping as well - still pretty offticking, whatever Edited by Nikita to modify...

Re: Why not x-ray the whole collector?

The reason we don't use ultrasound is because the ultrasound waves are too big to see a particle which is only a couple microns in size. Thanks for explaining, I do appreciate it. But (if you'll allow me to be so presumptious) you seem to be talking about locating a particle. I was thinking about l...
