Mark of the Reaper?

Go all the way down to the third focus bar from the bottom and the image will resolve dead center (no pun intended) about 25-50 microns from the top.

Track with a hook? It can be seen towards the very bottom of the focus range located in the upper left quadrant. The track looks vaugly like a backards question mark. http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=6739812V1 Nice find. :) It has an interesting surface feature, and a r...

Re: Multiple viewings of FOVs: statistical analysis, conclus

[quote="WeBeGood You can look at any movie by changing the number on the viewer url. Initially, the last movie was number 57546. Recently, some movies were added and the last number avialable increased to 61874. So your analysis is correct. And currently 62477 [/quote] It looks like the Stardus...

A thought just hit me that this mass visual inspection process could be used on the space shuttle. NASA has been having a lot of trouble with foam detaching from the orbiter's external fuel tank. I think that they take a photo survey of the foam's surface before the tank is mated to the orbiter. So ...

Re: some suggestions from me:

some suggestions from me: 4. Add flag “first discoverer” in “My events” 5. Would be fine to see more personal and whole project statistic (spent time, count of candidates, top candidates (w/o IDs), total movies, total checked, total bad focus, ...) Awesome suggestions I'd really like to see the &qu...

Re: Request

Could I resepectfully request that people include the movie ID in their message somewhere, so it's searchable? Intead of just putting "this movie" as the link. I think it'd be helpful if one could search first to see if their possible track has already been posted. Just right click the li...

What would you name your dust?

IF I found an actual interstellar dust particle, and IF I was the first to find it I would name mine Maxima after my grandmother. What would you name yours?

Movies loading very slow today.

So far this morning the movies are loading very slow sometimes taking 20 seconds or more. Is there ultra-high traffic today? I see that the project is closing in on 10,000 participants. Oh well I'll try to be patient. :P

Good topic Nikita and particularly well written. It's good to see that so many people care about the integrity of the project, because a lot of people have raised objections to those who just blast through the movies looking for a good score. But think about it. The same people who have hours and ho...
