Looks like an impact crater. Cosmic Snowflake? It's my first time to see a thing with such style. Not like a track, too big and not so deep, but what will it be :?: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=5118621V1 http://s3.amazonaws.com/stardustathome.testbucket/real/fm_-1180...

More on Cosmic Snowflakes, Second, Cosmic Snowflakes would most likely leave residue Hydrogen (H) and Oxygen (O) in the glazed glass of the crater. But, Oxygen is a component of aerogel (SiO2) so it would be impossible to tell the Oxygen in the aerogel's SiO2 and impactor's H2O. That is, unless the...

Seems I was wrong about the density of snowflakes to dust ratio. From the MIR Aerogel data it would indicate 50% Snowflakes, 50% dust. From the LDEF thermal shielding experiment, the ratio of Snowflakes to dust is more likely something like 95% snowflakes to 5% dust in Earth orbit. These thermal sh...

Hi. From the topic and text of the post in question, the moderator may have mistaken your post as one of the numerous posts that we are trying to corral. I find the topic of cosmic snowflakes interesting and others may as well, but they are not directly related to the StarDust@Home project as is th...

A sticky thread about surface impacts, which aren't tracks would be nice. Surface impacts to the aerogel, while they may not contain much startdust material to examine and do further research on, they are interesting and should be reported when found. Also, they are an anomoly, and it's quite often...

Since posting a message regarding Movie 8153179V1 within the Did anyone find a CLEAR track? thread, this movie seems to have come to the attention of the StarDust@Home team. It has now received an official "in 1st review" comment - the first that I have seen in my list of events. This is ...

This one is not a circular surface crater, but the features inside the crater are similar to the other one that was.

Cosmic Snowflakes, Is it snowing outside

the International Space Station? For almost 50 years of man-made objects have been orbiting the Earth. How could something as common as a Snowflake go unnoticed for so long? Their impressions left on every satellite ever flown. Well, they can't. The impressions of their impacts should be everywhere,...

Re: A nice example of a track...

This has got to be the clearest track I have witnessed... (StarDust or not - something fast has travelled through the gel at an angle!) http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?id=8153179V1 ...and you know what? - it was worth it! Wow, it's a rocket engine made by a Snowflake in a...

The triangular shape of this one was unusual - it almost looks broken.
