IDP or ejecta
I got this Stardust@Home Team Official Comment for Movie 9982449V1: "Passed cut 1 ... IDP or ejecta, lower right" I can only guess the meaning, because unless I'm blind, the definitions page does not yet define IDP or ejecta. The DP in IDP is likely "dust particle" though I'm not...

Are the calibration movies photo-edited?
I have a suspicion that the calibration movies containing examples of a track are edited to appear so. Maybe I'm crazy, but the graininess around the tracks doesn't ever seem to fit with the surrounding aerogel, and the tracks are earily similar. Sasari, nice find. I'm no expert, but it definitely looks like you've got something embedded in the gel. It could be that the track is just not there to visibly lead to the surface. I also suspect that the calibration movies might be throwing people off. They probably serve best to reveal who just i...

Here's that animation I was talking about.
I'm guessing it's a calibration slide, yet it is mush smaller and a bit harder to detect than any other I've seen. Anyway, it's worth me posting since I made the whole animation thing: http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/8634 ... 81btj0.gif

I also got logged out and was given a 'stardust@home error' message each time tonight...except with me it was just after I decided to click on the VM to note a track mark! The problem could be a time issue as you said, because each time I deliberated for a minute or two before clicking the image. Th...
