I'm more concerned that a majority aren't paying attention. Check out these two of the sixteen I've flagged so far. First one has 10 of 18 Agreement: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?movie_id=41876 Second one has 1 of 22 Agreement: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/mye...

Ok, this movie has 2 of them. One at the extreme right in the middle and the other slightly up and to the left, they both come into focus at the same time. Crap, there's actually a 3rd at the very top right corner. If there's supposed to be what - 40 to 100 impacts in all million+ movies, these must...

Sorry, didn't mean to sound snippy. Been doing this 7 hours now ;) Feel free to question my methods, I started this thread to do so. I agree the tracks in the samples tend to be much more dominant. By greyscale banding I mean you can see where one shade of grey stops and the next stops. If you turn ...

Not necissarily. I've been seeing some calibration movies where the track is nothing more than a black dot you can't make out till the last few steps focusing down. I think the only reason I'm seeing them is the greyscale banding on these movies, which I made a seperate thread about - I can tell whe...

Re: Are tutorials more "contrasty"?
Im not seeing it.. what portion of the video is "it" in??? (eg, Upper left? etc) From what I've "learned" from the tutorial, the tracks will appear to move independantly from the sample when the movie is "played" to a very small degree... everything I was able to see i...

Are tutorials more "contrasty"?
Take a look at this one: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/myevents_viewer.php?movie_id=41876 3 of 6 so far on Agreements - and I've spotted several others just like it only slightly fainter. Size and shape looks identical to one in the tutorial, but it doesn't have the high contrast edges seen...

yakmin: at first glance it has the characterstics of a track, however I notice a lot of the rest of debris seems to be in focus at the same point, even if it is at the bottom of the focus - the entire movie might not be focused properly to get a good top to bottom range. That said, I probably would ...

Greyscale banding
I hate to be a party pooper, but just wanted to point this out to the researchers incase it's something they can fix - because I'm sure I'm not the only one who has or will notice it: The calibration movies have extremely visible greyscale banding that is not nearly as visible in the real movies, ma...
