Sensitivity and specificity

Post by Zoerel »

This is my second year doing this search and I'm becoming a little discouraged due to not knowing if I'm doing the job properly. My specificity and sensitivity seem to be low. Can anyone tell me what would be a good margin for those two categories.

Hi Zoerel,

I'm a little new here, but in the future I hope to help out a little with fielding questions and the like in these forums. However, in this "early stage," all I can recommend at this time is to check out two previous discussions at http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... php?t=1994 and http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... hp?p=14789

Nonetheless, history would indicate that (with a little patience) one of the more experienced moderators will eventually get to your question.

Appreciation

Post by Zoerel »

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my query about sensitivity and specificity. It has been informative and a big help. I'll continue as always and wait until the end. Which reminds, me this was supposed to be a 3 month project. When will we be done ??? Zoerel

From what I've heard, the search will probably last at least another year and the science stemming from the search could continue for years to come.
