Your decision not to mark is identical to my decision. We will have to wait for a real, acknowledged by the team, track to see if it's correct. (i am quite sure though ;) )

Sorry Howie, I would not mark this one. There appears to be several surface levels so focus is weird but all the spots come into and out of focus as you go up and down.

There might be a clink in the armour here. There might be a basically flawed logic of how voting and this project is suppose to work.

Presenting this movie:

http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =5500682V1

It's unremarkable, Some kind of debris has hit the glass. Probably off the spacecraft or maybe just maybe it was travailing at a high rate of speed in the same sort of direction as the space craft so the impact velocity would be maybe not very high. Big deal, Yes it's not a interstellar dust particle but it's something.
The interesting part is the statistics. 42 views so far and 3 votes. What are you people looking at? Chances are this would pass first cut so why did you not click on it?

I don't get it. The best movies have hardly any votes.

I'm not sure what you are referring to. I may be wrong, but I don't see anything in focus below the surface. So I assume that you are talking about the big round object at the left rim of the FOV.

This I think is really not worth marking. Marking is for finding track candidates. Still it is a good idea to direct attention to it - namely by posting it in the thread named "I've found a cute, unusual, interesting movie".

I agree with you in the feeling that some of my events that looked promising received a relatively low agreement.

I would have marked it because it is similar to the two examples the project listed in their update as interesting finds. Who knows what they might be but they are interesting...

i'm with lpspieler on this. There's nothing here that remotly looks like a track.
There is some anomaly on the surface but that is not what we are here to click on. So i understand why practically no one is clicking this.

Well maybe it was a bad movie pick to illustrate my theory but it's sets a trend here. This movie that has the second highest votes in my list.

http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =7937104V1

Chances are is just a glass feature. ( 93 votes ) The highest is a inclusion ( 103 votes ) The example I posted is not like it's paint layer thin. You can't tell if that just broken glass, maybe there is something deeper out of focus the point being is you can't tell, it needs a second look. I have a theory that we will get threw the whole collector and not find anything. Actually the more likely trend will be we will get threw a vast portion of it and somebody will find a excellent one and it will be confirmed and then everyone will change there clicking behaviour to fit the new find. Chances are the previous ones are already on my list. At least the ones that that they sent to me.

But there good news in all of this, It increases the chances I'll be the first to record a vote on a find so continue doing what ever you are doing. It's working perfect for me so far.

Circular track

Post by fjgiie »

Something like the tutorial, sort of:

http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... =6690749V1

Look in the bottom left quadrant.

The last example you posted I see 2 possible tracks...

One top right of center about 100 micro from the top edge, a circle comes up at the bottom of the focus grid and also the bottom right also at the end of focus grid a large shadow come into view berfore you run out of focus to go further???

Looks like a nice lateral track.

For sure qualified for the low angle track thread.

In the low left corner, it seems to be a part of low angle track. But the focuses beneath surface are not enough, so I could not sure about it.
