Newly seen - 2 complete movies that are concatenated
After some 41,000 viewings, this evening I have started to see several (now at least 5) movies that are what looks like 2 complete movies that are concatenated... with an extra long focus bar. The movie has only one ID. This isn't the same as the movie with an odd frame from a different movie at the "bottom."
I added one to my events (even though neither of the concatenated movies have a track) so that I could reference it for you.
It looks like a bug or a problem with the scanning.
Cheers,
Bob

Hi All,
There was a new bug discovered in the process that creates the VM focus movies. The microscope at JSC scans each field of view and as it does so the scan is captured to an uncompressed Quicktime movie. Those movies are then sent to Berkeley where we pass them through a program that grabs frames from the movies to create the image stack that loads in the VM. It seems that something has changed unexpectedly recently and the frame rate of the movies is different than it used to be. Consequently, focus movies are beging produced that have far too many frames.
We're excluding those movies from searching until we can fix the problem. If you see more of these, let us know here.
Thanks,
-Bryan

Has anyone else noticed that at the same time this double-movie phenomenon appeared, most of the positive CMs have lost their give-away blocky jpeg triple-compression artefacts? About time too, if they are supposed to be a true test. Unfortunately, they are clearly still double-compressed, like the negative CMs have always been, and even the smallest tracks are still quite easy to spot because of their rectangular pasting.

double-movie phenomenon
Just a few minutes ago I got one; unfortunately, I forgot to note down the Movie-ID.bmendez wrote:Hi All,

About two thirds from the top down there is the jump to frames of another movie, like in those movies we had once in a while, from the very beginning.
But in this case there are many more frames to the whole.
