[Copy from another thread (closed but still unanswered)]

1. I clicked the following CM at 236, 257 and was scored wrong. When I went back the browsers URL indicated different coordinates than I clicked on (306, 181?? where I never would have clicked as it's pretty clean there).
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... s=?306,181
I am using Windows with IE6 and cable mouse. No magnifiers or other adds.
[/Copy]

2. I clicked CM http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... rds=?-1,-1 at 440, 100 and was scored wrong for a missed track affecting my "Sensitivity" value. Where else should I have clicked?

3. There are several reports of negativ scoring on real movies as reported eg here and here. This happened to me on movie
http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... rds=?-1,-1 and on movie 3787546V1 but could also be randomly.
What could have caused this behaviour?

Hopefuly this problems can be solved because they had a major effect on my (and others) scores so far. I expected that but not this way.

Thanks a lot

I origonally posted this over in Problems & Support under Bad CM?

I see the coord. is -1,-1 which doesn't make a bit of sense. I was solid on top of the spot when I klicked.

I beleive I found the same one as elainekeefe above. This is clearly a positive calibration movie and I got dinged when I clicked on it. What gives?

And another one:

Okay, here is another one. This one is not as obvious as the one above, but if I ever see these two again they will be tagged as Bad Focus. I'm not going to trust my good sensitivity score to these ever again.

I would have clicked on no track but because you posted it after looking real close you can see the little square where they did a digital insert at 385-256 but you can not see the track

Movie 2473252V1

Post by follerma »

I clicked on what I think might be a track in movie 2473252V1 at coords 231,357 and was given a "false positive".

Also, I was given a "false negative" on movie 8983510V1. Even after carefully reviewing the movie I was not able to find a track.

Sorry, wrong movie ID in my last post

Post by follerma »

Sorry, I posted the wrong movie ID for the one that I was given a false positive error for. It was not 2473252V1 but 9826632V1. The coordinates were correct, though:

Calibration Movie with track above surface

Post by gibbo714 »

URL: http://stardustathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ ... rds=?-1,-1
Movie id:718459V1
coords=?185,233

The "track" is actually slightly above the surface of the areogel. It also doesn't follow the focus angle relative to the areogel. My score was dinged because I didn't click on it.

I believe it would help for everyone to re-read the first post in this thread. Especially the part where the coordinates for a missed CM are listed on the next movie, not on the missed movie. The url for the CM you miss will have coordinates listed for the movie before it which may be a real movie.

I found this one (throwback from Phase 1?) and it has a small box around what looks to be a speck that becomes clearer as you go deeper. I'm assuming it's a mistake that it dinged my score, only because it didn't discredit me for my specificity, but for my sensitivity. So look out - this one is a trickster.

Hi stardust1,

For #1: The coordinates of the track in CM 8262415V1 are different from where you clicked, hence you were marked off for it. GODfather is correct about the real location. The URL you've posted is that of when you were on that CM and therefore shows the coordinates of your click on the movie prior to this one.

For #2: Again the you click at the wrong coordinates. However, my eyes are having trouble seeing anything at the correct position. I'll ask the rest of team about this one.

For #3: I've asked the team about it and they believe that there may be some confusion around the fact that the viewer only shows real movies and if a VM code is input for the viewer it would show a real movie. We are now changing this, so that it will give an error instead. However, I'm conviced that some of you are seeing this problem happening on real movies so I will press this question again.

Sorry for the troubles. But thank you for the reports. They are very helpful. Sometimes the problems are so subtle that they only show up after thousands of searches (which is difficult to test for).

Hi rlcwik,

The coordinate -1,-1 refer to having clicked on "No Track." Again, when in the VM the URL shows the coordinates that were click in the previous movie.

As to the missed CMs we are looking into any possible problems that may be similar to what we had experienced in phase 1 (clicks are correctly recorded in the database, but the scoring is not correctly calculated). If that is the case here again, then at least your score can be corrected when we occasionally update the system for such corrections (as we did just prior to the finish of phase 1).

Thanks for your reports,
-Bryan

Sorry follerma,

It looks like you missed the track in that movie. It was very, very small. But the system correctly marked you on that.

Movie 8983510V1 is a real movie. Are you sure this was the movie for which you were marked incorrectly?

The system marked you correctly here, gibbo714. You should have clicked on the coordinates you indicated.
